Are Motels safe?

I've never left unsafe in hotels......then again 99% of the time I'm traveling for a 3gun match and have a small arsenal beside the bed.

What do you mean by "safe"? Like, will you get mugged? Is there clean water? Do the toilets work?

Motels tend to be sketchy, but that's the price you pay to pay less. They're not always bad, but I don't recommend extended stays.

There is no good answer for any of these things. YMMV. Variables can include where you go, when you go, and what else is happening in the area at that time. For other factors, it is a matter of personal taste and tolerance.

I'm not sure about motels in India... from what I hear it has some of the most impoverished areas in the world. It just depends on the area.

Personally I prefer private room hostels to motels. Cheaper, more fun. But like anything, it depends on WHERE you're staying.

They aren't dirt lovers, they are big time world travelers that hitch rides with people who don't take precautions.

Edit: They are also more prolific than rabbits at propagating.

I'm thinking about doing some more road trips in the future. Being in the 2nd largest country in the world, it makes sense to explore and visit different parts of the country.

I've heard of some people staying in motels but I wonder about how safe they are. Sometimes I drive by one and it looks so seedy and sketchy.

Is it really worth saving a few bucks and risking it?

They invade apartment complexes, townhouses, etc.

In that vein its best to move to the country, run a heater at 135 degrees in your cabin for a couple hours, and don't have any visitors.
