I hardly imagine they'd be using Windows 10 Home in datacenters

A fucking go-karting track at the office? Seriously?

We have a fridge dedicated to beer at the office.

I thought it was, and then evn started talking about how they might be moving to a company that has a go-karting track, which made the beer fridge feel rather insignificant

Meanwhile I'm over here learning (and listening to 24 bits compared to 16 bit versions of songs I KNOW VERY VERY WELL) and realizing maybe 24 bit music is about as pointless as can be.

Incredible read that was. Dude knows his shit.

@evn has anyone bought your $500 WoW addon yet, btw?

I must say, speaking of benefits, my job at Starbucks makes some friends with career-level high salary jobs a little jealous. XD

What the actual f-? Like, I knew that other companies had different benefits, but that go-carts? That wasn't even remotely in the possibility space I considered.

Well, I'm not even allowed to drink alcohol at work, so...

My benefits aren't bad; they're just more traditional.

I've actually wondered this before, too.

Btw, @DeltrusDisc, what happened to your beard? Decided to shave it off?

I am not sure what you're looking at, but I have a mustache and goatee right about now. :P

Well don't I feel sheepish. I was going from the YouTube thumbnails from [url=http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1094212-Computer-Forum-Chat-Thread?p=44656092&viewfull=1#post44656092]a post of yours a few pages ago[url]. In my defense, the play button was blocking your chin. Last time I remembered you posted a video I swore you had a full beard.

It is! Goatee present in that video. ^_^

I've had a goatee for probably over a year at this point, been off and on with the mustache.

Got 11,001 Firestrike with my GTX 970, OC'd it fairly heavily.

Man, I've only ever grown more facial hair. I started clean shaven until I exited college. Then I grew a soul patch, then a goatee, now a full beard which I've had for, 5-6 year now I think? It was really funny when my work badge had an old picture when I was clean shaven. :P

I haven't benchmarked a PC in so long, I have no idea what that score means! Well, better than 70% of users, according to the link, but yeah. Kind of amazing a 970 can still pull that kind of weight - either that or it just shows how weak the average person's PC is.

Did you add any special kind of cooling to OC it like that? And by how much did you OC it? Specifics, man!

Average person isn't running 3dmark, this is already the average between nerds.

    I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT.

Actually I don't. I'll get you some more specific numbers @Alindra later, in the middle of a lot of stuff atm. But let's just say if I recall right I added 500-1000 points onto my first gtx 970 score, but don't quote me on that.

    Sadly 1500mhz is definitely a no-go.

    *cough*

Because what Linux really needs, is a single monolithic process that controls everything from start-up initialization to controlling audio stream volumes and routes every DNS request to google if you have no DNS in your LAN...

Oh, and did I mention that it's in Debian and Red Hat, which covers like 80% of used distributions (because let's be honest, nobody can be bothered configuring Arch :P ) ...

So I finally decide it's time to upgrade my phone and decide the Pixel 128gb would suit be best. Imagine my surprise to find out that, four months after launch, Google is still chronically out of stock with Pixels. Supposedly, the Pixel XL 128bg Silver has been unavailable since Nov 2016.

    What the heck?

So much for waiting for the initial surge to taper off before being. Grrr...

Arch also comes with systemd by default. I think Void doesn't, maybe Gentoo or some variant of it.

    Like in your room or?

    Oh goodie...

I get home and my front door lights are flashing at random intervals, I come in and tell my mom and she's like, they are? Well, I did hear some noise when I came over to turn them on. I ask her what the noise sounded like.

"Like a critter in the walls probably chewing on cables."

    Oh fucking great, just wonderful.

Am I going to wake up in the middle of the night to a fire in the wall? x_x

I've been watching too much Chicago Fire lately, I want to just shut off that whole circuit but the only person in the house who knows which circuit it is and what else is on it? Is in bed asleep: my dad.

The other switch on the very same board for the front hall light did work and that light turned on just fine... so... One cable being chewed on? Hmm. I kinda just want to call the local FD and get their take of the situation. Maybe I will tomorrow.
