You're absolutely right. I don't have an issue with her disliking a movie, but I do take issue with the fact that she called it "retarded". I'm not one to say that there's an objective truth to subjective things, but I don't think it's necessarily fair to say that about a top 100 IMDB movie of all time (or it at least was when I originally saw it a year ago?). I don't care for Star Wars, but I see the quality in it and reason for it's popularity. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's "retarded" because I didn't personally care for it.
