    Huh, this is interesting.

So in Andromeda, there's gonna be something called "Strike Missions", which are akin to the War Table operations from Dragon Age: Inquisition. These missions require you to send "Apex Operators" who are the equivalent of Inquisition Agents, in order to earn rewards such as resources, exp, money, gear, blueprints and more.

    HOWEVER

Unlike the Inquisition War Table operations, these Strike missions can either be completed by NPCs on a timer, or, by yourself in multiplayer o_O that's an interesting concept.

Get used to it. That shit seems to be happening quite a bit during cutscenes, and what's being shown of the game is still pretty controlled.

Yeah, I'm pretty down with this. It's nice that you can do it solo with AI partners as well.

Nowhere was it said that you can do them solo. You either send out your minions from the Garrison Follower Table Strike Team Control Panel or play the mission in Multiplayer. Soloing it with AI squadmates is not an option,

Hmmm, I could have sworn I read that you could do them solo/with AI partners somewhere. May have totally hallucinated that though, as a quick google search isn't turning anything up.

Oh well, still down with it. At least there's an option to do that stuff for solo players so you're not largely at the mercy of whether or not you can get a multiplayer match if you want extra points (something I had great difficulty with on my ME3 playthrough last year).

I like how the new ship doesn't have a lift and that you can even decide to jump off the sides of railing if you so desire. Stairs and lifts are for chumps!

I sincerely hope you're right about the AI partners. I mean, I don't think this is gonna be a problem in mass effect, because ME3's multiplayer is still played today, but Inquisition's multiplayer is 100% barren these days. Nobody ever plays it, and completing a match solo is simply impossible.

While I doubt that's gonna be the case with andromeda (indeed, if its anything like ME3s MP, then this is gonna have a long healthy life for a long while) it would be amazing if we could have some AI partners for when there's a lack of players online.

Yep, its a single area, with no loading screen or elevators. And I am also loving the many layers of verticality that jumping is going to add to the game (Further compounded by the jetpack). That was one of the very few weak points the original trilogy had, the lack of jumping, your feet permanently glued to the ground.

Yeah, if the mission system is at least like the mission table thingy in DA:I, I'll be fine with that. It's infinitely preferable to simply missing out if you jump in years after launch, that was super frustrating to me when I played ME3 and couldn't get a multiplayer mission to pop for the life of me (got like...2 total during my playthrough, both of which were halfway+ done by the time I got in).

Honestly, I keep forgetting DA:I even has a multiplayer option. I haven't the foggiest clue what it's even supposed to be >.>

That isn't true. You just have to build right and be good.

I really hope that it will run well enough on two 1080 ti's in 4k, I haven't had a good RPG to play recently

Dunno how it works with SLI or if it will support multiple GPU's in DX12 mode, but based off of what I've seen reported a single 1080ti should largely have you set for 4K.

The biggest downfall for DA:I's multiplayer is that its just not fun.

That's the gist of it, its not fun. And it provides zero benefits in single-player, so there's also no reason to do it. The way it works is that you pick a class (There's a bunch of pre-built classes, most of them unavailable in single-player like the bard) and then you and 3 other players go into a randomly-generated dungeon that's procedurally generated through the game's assets. The dungeons are divided into 5 rooms that you progress through linearly, at the end of each room there's a fountain that restores health (The only way to heal other than limited-use potions) and secret rooms that only people of certain classes can open (Brittle walls that only warrior-type classes can break, locks that only rogue-type classes can pick, barriers that only mage-type classes can dispel).

My main gripe with it, is that the combat is just boring, there's little to no synergy between the classes, leading to most players to just forget about teamwork and go off on their own, and the objectives are just boring. Clear room, move to next room, rinse-repeat. Sometimes a few bonus objectives pop up here and there (Escort NPC, for example) but they're still not fun.

I think they stroke a good balance with Andromeda's multiplayer it terms of necessity.

In ME3, multiplayer was too important, without it, it was impossible to get the least shitty ending (Until they patched it that is). And Inquisition's multiplayer was too trivial, as it provided zero benefits in single-player.

Andromeda is a nice balanced middle-ground where doing shit in multiplayer provides with benefits in single-player, but if you're the type that hates multiplayer and don't want to do it, then you don't absolutely have to, and can simply use NPCs to get the same benefits. Its a nice balanced state. Not too trivial, not too important.

Inquisition MP had fucking terrible controls and mechanics, though it never bothered me that it did nothing for the Single Player.

It didn't help it still utilizes P2P matchmaking, and at the moment I'm not sure if Andromeda's will use P2P matchmaking.

All of these shitty Pseudo-MPs use P2P, which makes it unplayable.

not sure about AI partners (though if its a thing, that would be AMAZING) but you can definitely solo multiplayer missions http://www.gamespot.com/articles/mas.../1100-6448687/

edited to add, I hope AI partners are a thing, because if it ends up working similar to Uncharted 4 survival mode? i will be a VERY happy camper. personaly.
