Thumbs up Vengeance Buff on PTR

Thank you for the suggestions and discussion.

In today’s 7.2 PTR update, we’re testing the following change:

    • Demonic Wards now reduces all damage taken by 20% (was 10%), and increases Armor by 75% (was 120%).

What this amounts to is a passive reduction of all incoming damage, combined with a lowered defenses against physical damage, leaving almost no change to incoming physical, but a substantial new mitigation against magic.

Your feedback has been very helpful, so again, thank you!

Good and smart change. Easy fix for a bigger problem. Good one Blizzard

Yes! I think so too. Vengeance has felt very solid since 7.1.5; magic damage has been our remaining Achilles heel. This should take the edge off nicely.

HUZZAH!!! And there was much rejoicing.

What do you mean? The rest are fine as is, especially the shoulders. Those are insane.

They're INCREDIBLY situational, the wrists are better in every situation that doesn't require you to silence the same mob for 12-16 seconds continuously.

But yeah, I'm happy with the change to our passive.

Really great change. We are super good at mitigating magic damage that comes in predictable intervals, but super BAD at mitigating persistent magic damage. This change will help a lot with Nighthold, Arcway M+, etc. and it doesn't hurt our Physical mitigation at all. Nice work, Blizz

With my gear (902 ilevel 6689 armor), current armor+wards is a 52.76% physical damage reduction.

With the PTR change it is 53.49%

So it is even a (minor) physical damage reduction buff too.

This is great, but it still solidifies the T19 set as remaining far superior to T20.
