Murder is murder. The only thing that makes it worse in this case is that it seems to have been premeditated.
The whole "hate crime" emphasis needs to go away. It's just going to cause more racial hatred. A man murdered another man.

in the NY times, none of the racial targeting aspects were mentioned. Just talk of a "well dressed man" giving himself up to police after stabbing the victim (whose arrest record they went out of their way to mentioned even though it was a random attack)
