I don't understand why so many of you are asking for a remaster of Warcraft 3. I'd rather they make a Warcraft 4 with new lore and added units and factions.
Warcraft 3 was great, but why not go forward instead of just reliving the past? WoD was a reliving of the past, how many of you liked that?

It wasn't executed correctly that's the thing and Warcraft 4 is not going to be a thing for the forseeable future.

You read it wrong. It's about original SC/BW from 1998/1999. Not about remaster.

I don't understand. Why would they spend resources on an old, old game, while there's already a new, better version of it? What a waste.

It feels like April's fool (as Blizzard usually do). If not, I hope they at least upgraded the Unit selection tab. (More then 12 at the same time). But it just feels like recycling all over again. We need something new, something big, RPG/MMO/Adventure style.

And there is the rub, games producers are in a way unwilling to try something new unlike in the past.. Because these days if it fails the amount of toxicity from the gaming community is enough that it scares any other developer from trying something innovative and interesting..

I suppose that is also why there has been SFA of interest coming out of Hollywood, it is reboot central over there at the moment.. The funny thing is if you want to see something interesting and original in a movie your best bet is Europe and Asia..

It comes down to cost. I'm pretty old for a gamer (born '72) and 8 bit and 16 bit games where developed by groups of 1-10 people in 6 months. Today the teams are over 100 people and cost millions and take more than one year. That's a BIG commitment and big risk. So they play it safe. I don't blame them, it's a systematic problem of the complex modern tech and I also can't offer a good solution. Indy games are one way to tackle the problem. But people also want top graphics and sound, but that's expensive and takes time...

Who are you to decide it's a waste of other peoples money? It's their money let them do what they want with it. I won't personally if they are going to allow the older version to play with the newer one since I run it fine on Windows 10.
