Most people? Thats what the larger percentage of comments on the IGN page were saying. If by most people its "I don't care therefore no one cares", than sure, you don't care. Lara Croft was defined one way, its being attempted to redefine it for whatever reason which is probably something moronic like "men shouldn't like women with big boobs and skinny waists because its not what I look like"

If you bothered to look at the comments in the linked article people basically said the chick that she was modelled on for the new game should have got it, boob size was wrong and her voice was wrong.

And yet I've been told by Avid fans of the Dark Tower Novels that a massive part of the interactions of one of the main characters is due to skin colour.

She ain't that attractive imo. Average I suppose. Much of the illusion comes from the fact that she is fit.

I haven't failed to understand anyone, if I google the character there is a clearly designed picture of what hes supposed to look at. The case is closed, all you've got to fall back on is your need to make black people seem more relevant be using them to replace white roles whilst screaming racism if its done is reverse.

OMG, Dark Tower spoilers, I haven't read them yet!

    Thanks a lot!

WTF is this thread? Are we really complaining about people's personal preference? I think she's ugly. Better go make a fucking thread about it. Such a waste of space and time. I thought this was about her getting fired because she was too ugly or something to that magnitude. Not a fucking comment section remark. It didn't help that Sarah is TERRIBLE at the English language, so I didn't know what the fuck she was trying to say. So I had to spend time reading this thread and the article to find out this bullshit...

    This shit is just ridiculous.

"That fictional character does not have large enough breasts, the movie is going to suck"
Hordes of virgins must be crying themselves to sleep now.

Oh give me a break, there are thousands of actresses in the world. Its a fucking Lara Croft movie, it'll be lucky to break even. They have nothing more important when they define a character other than "Not what we were looking for", that's the entire point of being an actor.

I think you're gonna have a hard time finding any women with a pair of pyramids on their chest.

This seems like the most irrelevant trait to criticize an actress choice for. Certainly nothing like trying to take the Japan out of Ghost in the Shell.

Lol, no this thread was made due to claims people were saying that. No one was saying that.

New Lara croft actress looks a fair bit like the new Lara Croft character design.. old Lara Croft Actress looked a fair bit like old Lara Croft character design. Where is the story here? While it's known old Lara was 34D, and Jolie was 36D.. don't think I recall any bust size stats for new Lara.. probably cause giving out bust sizes outside of a team ninja game stopped being a thing. Then again not sure what her bust size has to do with her ability to be a tough as nails treasure hunter/archaeologist/heiress/whatever else added on with duct tape.

Oh I know that, I can only think of 2 women I've met personally in my life that look the part but they aren't actors. I don't actually care, I am just talking about the comments of the people in the IGN article.

Didn't know Jolie padded, but then didn't exactly bother checking cause I think that's a weird google search to type out.

Nope, there are lots of reasons why they pick people to do roles in a movie and being the best actor is rarely one of them unless your production is cashed up.

    Meh.

Should have just cast Camilla Luddington, you know the actress that actually did all the motion cap / voice acting for the new games.

    Besides shes 10x hotter.

But Idris Elba is always the best choice for the role.

Actually, they first approached McConaughey to play Roland, but he found the Man in Black character more interesting.
Proving my point that they rarely get the best character to play a particular part, McConanghey being a more skilled actor than Elba. Can't imagine his accent going over well though lol.
