Glad to see our team never completely died.

Throwing my computer into the lot now! 8) Only just got started, at full power, the PPD number keeps going up, (only 1.5%~ through CPU and GPU folds atm) but we're already looking at at least 48k PPD.

I've missed F@H. Come back everyone!

I havent folded since college in ~2001 ish? One of my roomates was the one who got me into building PC's, he setup a server in our closet and all 5 of us had our PC's going.

Actually come to think of it it wasnt folding, it was seti. I may have to fire that up again.

First PC i built was an athlon xp 1600, ive only went up 100 points in 15 years. (got the ryzen 1700 lol)

Also this is completely off topic, but its kinda nuts how much people change over time. In college i was 99% sure aliens existed, now im almost 100% they dont :P

    Woah, this still exists
Funny to see I'm still #26 on the MMO-Champion.com "leaderboard" after not helping for like 5 year.

Aye! Seems there's only a few active people. I might take a stroll down memory lane in this thread, but I can't remember what our highest team rank ever was in the world... I remember we beat entire countries like France, though. bahaha

    - - - Updated - - -

Ever since getting my old passkey and plugging it in, the expected PPD keeps going up, now it's over 290,000... woof.

    - - - Updated - - -
@Wries @Asera Let's bring the pain back and get mmo-champ up there in the rankings. 8)

I might finally do something about my old 2500k+560 Ti (or could be 760, or my current 970 when I get a 1080 Ti) system's OS issues and get F@H going 24/7 on that...

I can't tell if -bigadv is a thing anymore or not, I just got the program installed and running... Not seeing the old script sections anymore. These sheer points from just my CPU and GPU though... well...

    - - - Updated - - -

Seems if you stop the folding and reset your computer the GPU will lose its progress/download a new one.

    Or something. >_>

I shut down, plugged my NVMe into a different PCI-E slot, stuck the 760 into the PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot and now I'm looking at brand new GPU Work units for both, not just the 760. =/

Now my estimated points per day is up to over 420,000 now though...

    - - - Updated - - -

Okay, so GPU-Z is reporting some... annoying things:

My GTX 970 is reporting PCI-E 3.0 x8 instead of x16, and the GTX 760? PCI-E 2.0 x1 instead of x16, even though both are doing 2,500,000 count-fold WUs, and the 760 has only a couple hours to go, whereas the 970 has over 7 hours... Maybe I need to give it a few more minutes, but either way... the PCI-E lanes shouldn't be having this issue.

    i7-5820K (28 PCI-E lanes)
    ASUS X99 Deluxe

I guess I'll go run CrystalDisk Mark to make sure the NVMe is getting full bandwidth or not.

But all these numbers equal out to a nice 28...

    970 should be using 16 v3 lanes
    760 should be using 16 v2 lanes, so 8 v3 lanes

    24 so far...

NVMe drive should be using 4 v3 lanes.

    Wow, 28. Amazing.

    - - - Updated - - -

    So, so weird.

3DMark Timespy did not report a change in score...

CrystalDisk Mark is still giving full speed readings on the NVMe.

    Well, ok. O_o

    - - - Updated - - -

    Yuck.

760 and 970 are both doing 3300 base credit WUs and the 760 has a 1~ minute TPF, but the 970 a 4~ minute TPF.

Monitoring GPU-Z and both cards are running full-blast... so... =S

    - - - Updated - - -

    By the way folks...

    We overtook NVidia... O_o

    http://folding.extremeoverclocking.c...hp?s=&t=209552

    - - - Updated - - -

The ol' 2500K and GTX 760 system are back up and running.

This system is back to just the 970, as full bandwidth is important!

So all in all, two CPUs, two GPUs folding. One of each will be 24/7 for the foreseeable future.

I should easily be pushing over 500k PPD. Hilarious looking back at how we were amazed by 1,000,000 points. hehe

    - - - Updated - - -

GTX 760 was handed a WU with a base points of 15,965... not bad. Going to take it like 15 hours. >.O

Hell yeah! We're bringing 2011/12 back!

    - - - Updated - - -

Bored and thought, why not? Let's design a fairly cost-effective, cores-focused dual CPU system that would be great for Folding or other such programs.

Thus, this was born, for only $2,500~:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

    CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2620 V4 2.1GHz 8-Core Processor ($407.89 @ SuperBiiz)

Now if I were to build something like this I'd likely also use it for photo-editing and well, a bigger HDD/SSD would be required. Canon RAW .CR2 files aren't small...

Either way, this would be 32 cores of glory. Interested if any of you would go a different route.

I had a feeling someone might think to mention Ryzen...

Do you really think, in a multi-threaded thing like this a consumer-grade single CPU like Ryzen could stand up to a dual CPU Xeon system? Somehow I doubt it.

    Well actually it could deltrus...

Those xeons you linked come clocked at 2.1ghz, you can clock ryzen to 4.0ghz quite easily on all cores. Ryzen is like a folders dream, for a fraction of the cost intel was offering stuff at. And if that 16c 32t ryzen is real, oh man...

Different kinds of WUs, last I checked.

And I'm not sure, I remember way back AMD GPUs were barely supported, but that AMD GPUs were much better for bitcoin mining. Maybe... maybe? It's the same situation here?

Either way, I'm getting a GTX 1080 Ti because woo N64 1080 Snowboarding game made me love that number. XD

    And it's a beast.

You know, I always meant to get involved in this, but at the time my hardware was kinda dying. By the time I upgraded I had completely forgot. I'm gaming much much less these days and my PC is mainly used by my daughter to play Minecraft now. Kinda sad really. Maybe now is the time to put it to use for a good cause like this. Thanks for the reminder.

Welcome to the team! I'm glad to see this is getting some old folks' attention again!

Hope we can at least get some solid few people involved again.

@mojo6912 why are your points per WU right now so low? D:

Did it already register? I didnt finish any WU's yet. I fired it up and did half a WU on my 970. Gonna let it run over night. I can't let it run during the day I gotta game =P.

It showed about 200k PPD while it was running. My 4770k wont even download a WU but i remember getting next to no points from my cpu anyway.

edit: Oh, just noticed you asked about point per WU. I have no idea why it's low or how to even see what it is. I just fold what they give me =P.
my 970 is working on a 0x21 unit that gives 15,000 estimated credit and will take about 3 hours.
