I wouldn't be opposed to Russia joining us. We could probably get another 50 states out of that territory.

On a more serious note, I think we should be allies with Russia. We already are somewhat opposed to China. What are we going to do? Fight terrorism, China, Russia..... bring it on! Russia is also a natural ally to help us combat terrorism. From all reports, they are handing ISIS much more of a beating than we were able to.......

Anglosphere + EU is already a thing, and we've collectively ruled the world since WW2 (not to mention the British Empire ruling it before that).

For all the hypotheticals of US vs. Russia, US vs. China, US vs. Muslim World - the biggest actual power in the world that might pose a threat to the US is Anglosphere+EU (minus US) - but not even the craziest conspiracy theorist proposes such a possibility.

The GDP PPP of Russia is $18k USD per year. If you added Russia to the US, you would have 150 million new welfare recipients to support, and like 10 new billionaires who refuse to share or pay taxes.

So it would just be a massive tax burden on the US middle class.
