While a number of companies can undergo phoenixism, this doesn't really apply to Bossland, at all. Pheonixism is best used when a company has both made a bad decision causing them to go into debt, AND that decision also tarnished their name. Bossland's "product" is now illegal. ANY company that sells bots for Blizzard games (And, to an extent, ANY game now) can easily be sued, forced to discontinue their product, and pay damages to the business owning their targeted game.

Tbh, the only reason why blizzard won this is because bossland got cocky and made too many Blizzard game* bots.
Bossland got ahead of themselves which now results in them most likely shutting down, though let's be honest,
they've made more than enough money for themselves, just one ban wave alone in WoD managed to catch over 200 000 bots in WoW alone and each bot costs between 15-30 dollars at the time. And those were only the ones caught in that small period that the trap was set, I believe it was stated that there were 600 000 -active- bots sold by Honorbuddy alone in 2 years.

It's very likely that the owners of bossland have a huge ass house, a dope ass car and tons of money in their savings. They'll be fine either way.

Hello, I'd like to introduce you to a country called China, where this is so common, the behavior is cliché at this point.

Hello, That doesn't really matter in regards to this though, As they're not in China, But regardless, It's not as easy as people here seem to think, Of course some companies have done it, But if it was just as easy as changing your name, Then every company that has debt would just do it.

They do though. Just look up what happens with the steel industry in China.

    Here's a quick rundown:

    0. Obtain a bunch of shitty garbage steel.
    1. Buyer contacts Tiger Dragon Phoenix Steel Company to provide them with X quantity of Y-grade steel.
    2. Oh wow, look at these prices, this is way better than the competition
    3. Buyer places an order
    4. Order will usually be days-to-months late
    5. What gives, where's my steel?
    6. Shipment of steel arrives, it's not to correct thickness, it's rusting, and of poor quality. Nonuniform and non-ascertainable material properties.
    7. The hell? This is garbage, we want a refund.
    8. Sorry, Tiger Dragon Phoenix Steel Company has been out of business and declared bankruptcy months ago.
    9. Hi, I'm a representative from Phoenix Dragon Tiger Steel Company, we see that you were screwed over. Would you like to buy steel from us? We're legit, trust us.
