The following is my National Power Company Bill for last month: (In Greece, like in other Communist Countries, Power Production & Sale, Water Production Sale, and various other commodities belong to the State) I own two 120 sq. mtrs. appartments, only one of which is occupied. Last year, I paid around 30,000 euros in taxes, including but not limited to, income taxes, housing taxes (tax because I own two appartments), automobile taxes (taxes because I own a car and a motorcycle), National Roads Taxes (Tax in order to be granted the right to use the country's Road System), and Additional National Roads Tolls (this works out to 6.42 Euros per 100 km of road used). I may be forgetting 2-3 more taxes.

All taxes described in my National Power Company Bill are "Extra taxes" because I am paying them monthly and so they are not included in the 30,000 euros mentioned above. There are also additional taxes paid for the Water Supply ("Water Bill"), additional taxes paid for the right to use a Telephone, additional Taxes for the right to use a Cellphone, and additional taxes for the right to use the Internet. All this works out to a few thousand euros additional taxes.

About 50% of the Greek people (including the Muslim illegal immigrants who stay here) have stopped paying taxes to the Govt years ago, and the Govt cannot compel them to pay.

While I'm inclined to agree, my version would read "public sector unions are among the worst things in America ever." I find those unions to be even worse than private sector unions.

1) You did not answer my question on the effective tax rate, we in fact do not have the highest corporate tax rate because we have loopholes you can drive a truck through.

2) Look up R&D spending of US companies, subsidies for R&D have to do with federal funding of the private sector which is another topic.

Does your wife know your cheating? that's the equivalent of your question. I like fact based data not emotional dribble people spout, China's currency manipulation and protectionist policies are mostly based on people's impression of them during their growth phase. 1) Arguing that there are loopholes and for that reason our tax rates are not among the highest is stupid. If that is the case why not lower them?
2) I did. Canada is using american capital to fund its r&d. Why are companies doing it? Because its cheaper to do so in Canada. Why? Because of their massive subsidies (mainly through tax credits so its not really funding). My solution we should give even more subsidies or do it like China and use subsidies to cover the entire thing.

See here's the thing. First off all america isnt socialist. So because of that we should have lower taxes than socialist/communist countries. No "free" health care and other BS that's been proven to fail.

Second those are averages. The reason why republicans bitch about taxes is because we pay the taxes. The top 5% pay 95% of the taxes. Of the top 5%(most liberal) they dont pay taxes. Look at Gates, Buffet, Pimpleface zuckerberg etc etc Now the rest of the 95% comes from middle class blue collar workers. Most are republican or moderate liberals not far left radicals. The poor, most liberal pay no taxes.

The federal government taxes the rich at 39% and middle class at 25%(its far more complicated cause there's like 7 brackets but just for averages will we use those numbers). Even worse if you live in new york or california cause they pay I believe about 14% in state taxes. THEN on top of that we got major cities we tax a few percent.



So in conclusion yes republicans hate pay all the taxes. Also notice the states with the highest taxes and most commi liberals are the poorest. Its not hard to figure out.

The fact that you think Republicans are paying all the taxes means that we can just straight up ignore you. 9/10 states that pay the most in taxes to the federal government are Democrat, but ALL TEN of the highest receivers of federal tax money are Republican.

Take a look at the US corporate tax rate and you'll see what people are talking about when they discuss the US's taxes being too high.

Personally, I do think income taxes are too high. I'm a proponent of a percentage-based tax code instead... with everybody paying a fixed percentage of their income, like 15%. You'd see explosive growth.
