The man takes any team and makes it a playoff team. Look at what he did in Detroit for so many years. After Lidstrom retired, Zetterberg and Datsyuk both declined hard.

Im going with SJ over CBJ. Hope Leafs can upset Washington but I do think it's going to game 6 or 7; important thing though is rookies getting playoff experience now. Calgary, Nashville, NYR, Boston all have very tough match ups against teams I think they have tons of trouble beating. Really hope Rangers can pull off the win though.

Why are head coaches in the NHL so much more of a carousel than other sports? There's so many coaches in the playoffs this year who were coaching other teams either this year or very recently, that's so rare in other sports.

Yeah don't really know. I think part of it is that coaches often get the blame for the GM'S screw ups in this league.

Coaches in the NHL are always the first to go. Often they don't have much input on what the GM does. Players that get signed. Unless that coach has won quite a bit there.

Because owners lack patience.

Coaches in the NHL are always the first to go. Often they don't have much input on what the GM does. Players that get signed. Unless that coach has won quite a bit there.

Most teams just don't have the patience or the scouting departments to get the players a coach can work with. Most coaches don't have the clout to get what they want from their management as far as players. Look what shitty drafting has done for a lot of teams, perennial losers multiple years in a row.

Once again the Caps are choking in the playoffs...same story every year. I told myself after last year I'm not watching a lick of playoff hockey unless they at get to the conference finals.

Didn't get to see it because I had to work tonight but it sounds like Pekka had one of his better games and the D pretty well limited major chances. Sounded more like an old Trotz coached team than a Lavi one.

Yeah Rinne was pretty good, but he wasn't the story imo, 26 motherfucking blocked shots.
