This Tartaros arc so far has been pretty good, but one thing has been bothering me. Every time a member of Fairy Tail has gone one-on-one with one of the Nine Demon Gates, they've kicked the shit out of the demon. Tartaros grossly underestimated the power of their magic. I'm not sure how this can continue on for twenty more episodes.

Not to this extent. There wouldn't really even be any kind of conflict so far if Tartaros hadn't killed a bunch of people beforehand. Or had some kind of revival technology. Like, from the first signs of conflict, Tartaros was getting its ass kicked. There has to be some major shenanigans for this to get worse. I mean that every arc has the same thing. Fairy Tail gets their ass whooped, they then get serious, and then Fairy Tail wins. Honestly it gets a bit boring, considering how badly a few of them lose and practically become crippled only for them to get past it with half a day of rest and somehow end up being twice, if not more so, stronger than than were previously for no reason other then "time to get serious and protect family". I understand it's a silly kind of anime, but sometimes it takes suspension of disbelief out behind the barn and does unholy things to it. Not to mention the repeated use of the same story beats does get a bit tiring.
