Thier Purpose (Warlocks) is going to be the same as what happens after ever expansion,
They are to be the class that gets royally fucked over again with changes.

Even if there were no more demons Warlocks seem fairly adept at summoning and controlling creatures of the void.

Um, most classes weren't designed to fight the Legion. It's really just demon hunters.

Even without war I'm sure mages, priests, warlocks, rogues, druids, monks, shamans, and hunters will keep doing their things, just with less murder(except rogues). Peace time paladins might just convert into priests. Even warriors would likely find employment as police and guards.

So yeah, it's really just demon hunters and death knights that'd have nothing to do in the event of longterm peace.

The thing about demons is that they are creatures of absolute chaos. Sargeras, still a titan, lords over them, keeping them in "order". I think it was stated that the demons only serve Sargeras because he has the means to wipe them out for good (and he also may have slightly empowered them). After Sargeras' time has passed, the demons return to a state of pure chaos and that could mean they become a more indirect but even moreso horrific threat.

Demon hunters will commit sudoku in the twisting nether. This will be their ultimate sacrifice, they are constantly talking about.

The Legion is not fighting to get rid of VoidLords, they're destroying life in the universe so the VoidLords can't corrupt it. Even the Legion can't fight Void Lords in their own dimension - the Void is beyond reality.

Demons nor creatures from Azeroth can exist in the Void.

As long as there is a Void, there will be Void Lords. The Void cannot exist without the Light. To destroy the Void means to destroy Light. You're talking about destroying the underpinnings of the universe. Not only is that impossible, it's so far beyond the scope of the game it's not even worth theorizing.

But, demons are created from the collision of the Light and the Dark. As long as demons are created, there will be demons to fight, and demons to enslave.

At least that's what I recall from Chronicles #1.

Demons aren't all "bad" I guess, but what if we defeat Sargeras and some demons survive to continue to pester us, while other demons stick around to help us. Seems like Warlocks and Demon Hunters can still have a space in that. Warlocks enslave evil demons and Demon Hunters hunt them down.

What does even make a demon? Demons weren't always demons. Doomguards are corrupted servants of the Titans. Other demons are just really evil creatures. Will be interesting to explore their origins.

"As the universe formed, the most chaotic energies unleashed by the clash between Light and Void coalesced into an astral dimension known as the Twisting Nether. Light and Void bled together at the borders of this realm, throwing it into turmoil with chaotic magics.[8][9] Life would arise in the Twisting Nether too in the form of the first demons, born as a result of this clash between the two energies.[10] The Twisting Nether became home to an infinite number of demonic beings, most of whom sought only to destroy life and devour the energies of the livings.[8] Where the Twisting Nether bled into the the Great Dark Beyond, demons would pour and destroy civilizations and worlds.[10]"

Indeed, [Azeroth] could become their greatest warrior, one capable of neutralizing the void lords once and for all.

Aman'Thul called out to Sargeras, pleading with him to abandon his mad Burning Crusade. He told Sargeras of Azeroth, a fledgling world-soul with more potential than any of the Pantheon had ever seen, a being strong enough to defeat the void lords in due time.

Light can exist without Void. Light was first, then Void came later.
The ocean of Light was dynamic and ever shifting. Yet as it expanded, some of its energies faded and dimmed, leaving behind pockets of cold nothingness. From the absence of Light in these spaces, a new power coalesced and came to be. This power was the Void.

What is the purpose of warriors?
Oh yeah, just smack things. But what if we destroy all things?

    I know 1 thing, atleast...

We Paladin's aren't going to lose our Purpose ANYTIME soon....

Remember Anduin? Pfft, he's living till the Void Lords are dead.

    FOR THE LIGHT!

Why do you think we'll beat the legion? Even if we repel the legion, we'll just go back in time, and fight the legion in another timeline, or something.

    WoW is a closed loop.

The Legion is just an organization of demons which follows Sargeras. The Twisting Nether and its inhabitants are not going anywhere anytime soon. That said, Demon Hunters don't fight demons just because, their ultimate goal is to save Azeroth no matter the cost. Thus, it's entirely possible for them to shift their focus on the Void as it becomes a more immediate threat. They may even start corrupting themselves with the Void in order to adapt to the new foe.

We become Void Lord Hunters, obviously.

This question doesn't really concern warlocks. As a class their aim is just to get as powerful as possible while staying alive. But demon hunters, yeah. "My life is dedicated to destroying the Burning Legion." Still, it isn't too hard to imagine them joining the fight against a threat that isn't the Legion.

read/found something interesting recently. below deliverance point to the water is a cave with an orc drakthul. if you talk to him after the dialogue when you tell him that u are here to fight the demons, he basically scoffs and says, they are not your true enemies. and we already know that the priests have a light converted nathrezim. meaning that 1. hinting at old dudes and void lords as the real baddies, 2. nathrezim though only ever seen as demons can be good too.

So it might be very well that they will join up the fight against the void.

This is beyond far fetched but kiljaeden might be the one to kill because he is just consumed by hate for the draenei and sargeras might just come back to his freaking senses. I dunno, maybe.

Warlocks will serve the same purpose they serve now: "Can we get a closet?"

Not so sure about demon hunters. Guessing they're around to remind us about sacrifice? :\
