Not even the simple WoW cinematics some still wonder what game it is.

The new generation right now has no clue what WoW is.

Blizzard can easily get new subs from the newer generation by just advertising ALOT on TV etc. Yet they do not.

I feel like Blizzard is abandoning the game itself bit by bit, just realising this after seeing newer generation not knowing WoW.

My little brother, exactly 10 years 2 months younger than me is right at that age where I was enraptured by MMO's? Nope, prefers things like War Thunder and Battlefield 4. Buuut, he's also always been a military jug-head with a focus on machinery and the like.

Why would the newer generation even care about this relic from the past? When you watch game play footage of it, well it's outdated and it doesn't really look that good either. It also have a monthly subscription, there are better options which are free to play with Friends or cost very little to play.

Thats why Blizzard has been expanding on all kind of other projects after WoW has been their flagship for so long. The gaming culture is changing and MMORPG's aren't that popular anymore, its mostly about FPS and MOBA now. Advertising the game at this point won't do much (also newer generation and TV lolol).

Wow just has a reputation of an old game, idk how blizz needs to advertise, but Tv is certainly not the solution.
Making a f2p version that is better and more then the 1-20 experience might be a good step.

Anyway, as said above... MMORPGs aren't as known or as followed as they once were. Still one of the most known games out there though, and given its age... it's normal that from now on WoW will be less and less known... I still enjoy it as much as I did when I started it. But that's just me, can't speak for the majority.
And yes, I actually agree... advertising it on TV would probably help. But I have the feeling they would only advertise it in the US and not worldwide.

Ah yes, the darn kids these days. They didn't have the attention span to appreciate anything when I was a kid too. Or in the generation before that. And remember when that new-fangled "TV" thing ruined everyone's kids forever? Yeesh. The young people.
