It wasn't banned. If the film creators feel that strongly about their movie and the message it brings then they have all sorts of other platforms to host it.

Red Pill is a MGTOW term. Basically, an awakening to what feminism has done to the world and how Men are basically 2nd class citizens now. If this movie presents things in the view of MGTOW/MRA then some men might get upset. Some women might see how wrong men are being treated and realize that feminism has gone too far. Im not sure, Ive never seen the movie. Never even heard of it till I saw this thread. But, I also agree with the OP that I dont see any reason why it should be banned. Good PR though.

I'd be interested in watching it. But not in a Theater. I reserve my theater visits for movies that would be best suited for a large screen, and amazing audio.

A documentary does not fit that criteria. I would happily watch this on Netflix in the comfort of my home, with company to have a discussion about it with.
