You could have the world in the palm of your hands
You still might drop it
My crush of the month is Re Zero. My perennial favourites are Cowboy Bebop, Kiddy Grade and anything from Miyazaki or Kon. (I also have a sweet spot for Digimon Adventures.)
I really love litrpg, but SAO plays into the worst of anime cliches with their love of "psycho mass murderers who somehow managed to stumble into highly influential positions without tipping anyone else off but this single highschool protagonist". the lightnovel for sao was much better presented than the anime too, and im not really sure if that was an issue with the anime, or just the fact that when you adapt something like that to an anime it loses the emotional weight of scenes.
If I'm introducing someone to anime its gonna either be Cowboy Bebop or Honey & Clover... depending on their taste in movie/tv genres.
I guess Eden of the East might be another alternative...
FMA: Brotherhood
But just started Black Rock Shooter and the first episode was amazing. Not FMA levels, but still enjoying it.

The first Pokémon movie is my extent of Japanese cartoons I can tolerate.
Boku no Pico.
Used to watch Pokemon and Digimon if they count.
I don't watch anime.
Me not that kind of Orc!
From my avatar, Spice and Wolf.
I could say plenty of what I love about the anime but this scene captures much of it.
The wise wolf who's pride is her wisdom isn't so sharp as drunk.
