I disagree completely. Aesthetics matter the most to me. I'd rather have a building with pretty, inspiring architecture than a cost-efficient and functional one. These practical shoe box shaped apartment complexes everywhere are absolutely terrible in my eyes. Efficient way of building, but completely soulless.

not directly and only talking about houses. but. everything in and on a house should have a function. simply to add something 100% based on the look makes the building less usefull and hard to make. the soulless apparment boom complex thing(something something 1970 miljion thing) look horrible.

I disagree, because art is never about function. Take this for instance:

There's no function to having arches or arched windows, and it's less convenient than your average apartment design. And towers certainly don't add to a house in any sense of convenience. The patterned architecture is there solely for the sake of aesthetics. Because it's pretty.

arches do actually have a function. they can bridge a distance and provide support. but dont get me too wrong. i apperciate art. not a lot of it. but when it comes to houses. i have seen some that look amazing. but completely does not fit where they are built and then they lost their value.
