I'm not an atheist, but I don't understand this "But atheists do X" Atheists as a group* don't exist. Atheism is just not believing in gods... There is no outlaying rules or guidelines for an Atheist to follow. To compare a Religious person to an Athiest is comparing apples and monster trucks..

Believing in fairies, magical creatures and Santa Claus is ok up until the age of 5 more or less. Many people confuse atheism w/ apostasy and blasphemy. If you never were a Muslim and you're an atheist, no one really cares. If you're an atheist AND do some blasphemous stuff, e.g., post on Twitter that religion/prophet/etc are shite, you're fucked. If you were a Muslim and then abandoned Islam, you're fucked, because that's how you become an apostate. And apostasy is kinda deadly sin, in some countries it's literally deadly
