# of treasures * xp per treasure = total xp.
I'm certain that when you level, the xp you gain from treasures decreases, while the overall # of xp from the treasure of course is increased due to inflation.
It could work like it did in WoD.

Do you even get experience from the treasure boxes? I don't remember getting any but it's been a while.

Yeah I think they didn't give exp for legion.

Most of the chests in Legion don't give exp. Like zero.
They did this because they didn't like how solely looting treasures via HandyNotes was the best way to level in WoD once flying kicked in.
Personally I think it was a mistake. Most of the time, Legion treasures aren't worth it to go even 10 seconds out of your way for. That is how small the AP/OR/Gold gain is. It's pitiful.
