Queen Elizabeth’s entire staff called to ‘highly unusual’ emergency meeting at Buckin

QUEEN Elizabeth II’s entire staff from across the United Kingdom has been summoned to an emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace in London today, according to reports. Servants will be addressed by the Royal Household’s most senior officer Lord Chamberlain and Her Majesty’s Private Secretary Sir Christopher Geidt in just hours. The meeting, called suddenly and described as highly unusual by royal watchers, has sent Britain’s rumour mill into a concerned frenzy. It’s currently the middle of the night in London.

There is speculation that the announcement is to do with either the Queen or her husband the Duke of Edinburgh’s health. Social media has erupted in panic with many offering theories about the announcement, from abdication to far more serious issues. The Mirror reports that even the most trusted of staff have been left in the cold as to what the meeting will be about.

“Although meetings involving the entire royal household are occasionally called, the way this has been done at the eleventh hour is highly unusual and suggests that there is something major to be disseminated,” Mail Online reported. Buckingham Palace has declined to comment.

    UPDATE

Prince Philip to step down from all public engagements from August

Prince Philip will step down from all public engagements from August, Buckingham Palace has said in a press release. The announcement came after an emergency meeting of all royal staff prompted a flurry of speculation about the health of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The palace said Prince Philip will attend all previously scheduled engagements until August, but will not be accepting new invitations.

The Queen will continue to carry out her full programme of engagements and Prince Philip "may still choose to attend certain public events from time to time".

He will continue to be associated with the over 780 organisations he is patron, president or a member of, although he will no longer play an active role.

Nothing on the BBC. If it was something really major they would be reporting it by now.

Holy shit. The Queen might literally rather die rather than meet Donald Trump.

It's all rather strange - though if it's something major then the silence from the press is understandable. Certain protocols are followed out of respect for those involved.

Not until Buckingham Palace greenlights it. The BBC still has decorum.

While true if it is something serious the BBC in of itself has certain protocals they go through even during a health scare.

While true I switched over to Sky News also (Murdoch run so expect a decorum black hole here.) and nothing. It seems the primary source has come from the Daily Mail and the Express. Which in turn makes me think this is at best something out of nothing, at worst some grade A bullshit and then they can blame it on well what ever these two like to blame things on this time around.

Smells like BS but if there is a grain of truth to it my bet its Prince Phillips health and not the queen.

Apparently he was opening something at Lords cricket ground yesterday and seemed in good health.... for a 95 year old.

They are not allowed to report until 8am UK time, once that has passed then they will say what it is, but it is suggested it has something to do with either Queen Elizabeth or Prince Philip with odds it having to do with Prince Philip..

The old lady is unbreakable. No way she dies before she's at least 110 or something. Maybe it's about her husband.

if it is abdication or worse then wouldn't Prince Charles take the throne?

Maybe someone should send her a leveling guide, or group up and boost her in a few dungeons...

    His next in line.

I don't think it would be abdication though, I doubt they'd bring all the staff back at such a random hour of the night.

Hopefully none of the family have died, but for such a meeting to be called so suddenly and at such a late hour makes me think think that this is the case.

She won't abdicate. she vowed years before, and during her reign that her whole life would be in service.
