I'll be honest.
This is probably one of the better attempts at an older company attempting to do something new and interesting with its marketing.
A lot of companies try to force memes into their advertising, or try to be 'hip' or more importantly 'relevant', thinking if they throw in a few buzzwords or trending things, it will get sales. 97 out of 100 times they come off as
silly, cringey, or even outright offensive, as if their marketing department are people who aren't actually let out of small cages until the actual meeting occurs.
I feel like the recent set of ads really touches base with honest humor and satire that isn't trying to latch onto something. It's silly, but it's legitimately original. It's the stuff that makes Adult Swim stuff funny. All the while the ACTUAL marketing of REAL products is subtle and flows with the commercial. While I'm no fan of McDonald's itself, I applaud their attempts to do marketing correctly.
