This is going to be good popcorn time. For a week we will hear Trump claiming total victory until it hits the Senate and we suddenly find out the rules and laws need to change because if Trump loses.. rules are wrong... rigged system..

Trump is under the impression that it only needs to pass the House or the Senate. They literally told him it has a better chance of passing the House, so that is where he pushed it. I pity the poor soul who has to go into his office tomorrow and explain to him that it now needs to go to the Senate.

Does anyone happen to have lying around a serious attempt by a GOPer to defend their party's platform as the path of Jesus Christ? To the best of my knowledge, Jesus didn't say word one about homosexuals or abortion, but had a lot to say about healing the sick, feeding the hungry, loving thy neighbor and helping the poor.

And most importantly ´not judging others´. As a Christian, I get a lot of joy pointing out that the one time the Jesus did have to deal with a sex issue... a woman who was about to be stoned for committing adultery.... he did not use that moment to teach about sex, or about adultery... instead, he picked up a rock and said ´ let he among you who has not sinned cast the first stone´. Not only did Jesus not teach about sexual immorality, when given a golden opportunity to, he instead made it another lesson about judging other people.

I'm still hoping it passes. I've been telling people for awhile now that things will have to get a LOT worse before they can get better. Something like this happening has a slim chance of being a wake the fuck up moment for the country. And we can only hope that these idiots will get kicked out on their asses and we can get some true progressives in. It's not likely to happen because bought parties are bought and paid for, but there is that slim chance. Either way, this is the the GOP pulling the political equivalent of Wile E. Coyote blowing himself up.

I don't believe that for a second. Even if, for some really strange reason, Trump didn't know before entering office that bills require passage by both the House and Senate (and I don't even believe that) -- he would have found out early early on and certainly still not be unclear on that by now.
