Ok so what about skyrocketing premiums and deductibles? Obama promised they would go down, not rise by 1000%. We were cheated and lied to.

I think the issue is you're misunderstanding premiums... employers not covering as much leads to the employee paying more but that doesn't mean that premiums actually went up. For instance is something cost 500 and your employer covers 450 and you pay 50 that looks good to you. If it now goes down to 475 and you pay 75 and your employer pays 400, it looks like your premiums went up. A huge driving factor in higher prices was that employers were not contributing as much as they used to.

If the #TrumpRegrets Twitter feed is anything to go by, the GOP's also losing a lot of the rust belt and rural Southerners who voted Trump in out of desperation to get their economies fixed and the opioid addiction epidemic that broke out down here handled. Word got out that said opioid addiction would be considered a pre-existing condition and Trump's been doing a whole lotta nothing to bring rust belt factory jobs back.

All the Dems need to do is bring up the House Republicans who voted in favor of this bill and really lay into it come the 2018 midterm campaigns and that's going to flip a whole lot of moderate and center-right voters once healthcare becomes the 2018 big-button issue.

That's the short term effect. For sure the republicans have just lost a whole lot of house seats due to Trump voters who will now vote to punish them in 2018. But you can expect them to go back to the republican party eventually, either in 2020 or 2022 (especially if a democrat becomes president in 2020). The real damage will be over the longer term as the republicans brand is further damaged with new voters who have yet to pick a political home. There are no positive aspects to this bill to draw them in, quite the reverse, what it does - give tax cuts to the 1% and take healthcare away from the poor and lower middle class to pay for it - is utterly repugnant and will push them away.

But there is a fine you get it when you sign up again with an insurance company, the only difference is the government is not collecting the money and the insurance company can charge you whatever they want.

Have you read any summary of the bill? it seems you don't know what's in it.

So I was looking at the list as to what counts as a preexisting condition and it said obesity, how does that work when you've never been obese before, but you become obese? Serious question, I really don't understand! Anyone?

It means that if you become obese then afterwards buy health insurance, the health insurance providers can say sorry "we won't cover you for x,y,z, because its due to your pre-existing condition that you had before you bought insurance from us". In general it means insurance companies can literally find a way out for paying for anything because somehow somewhere everyone has suffered from something health wise at a prior point in their lives, and you can then tie that however tenuously, to whatever you need treatment for now.

They did not rise by 1000%. The average rate of increase of premiums fell after Obamacare was implemented due to it having some minor cost control measures included. That they still rose (but less than expected) can not be blamed on Obamacare because that was going to happen anyway.
