Its actually not that surprising if you put it into perspective. If your state is full of sick people, and the insurance plans are specific to what state you live in, you want to be grouped with as few sick people as possible under your insurance.

Its likely not the people with the pre existing conditions that voted for Trump, but rather the massive amount of people stuck on those plans with those people who did.

At least until you get an injury to a joint, and have to have surgery and continuous physical therapy and pain management. Or develop a disease, or just had one you never knew about. Then suddenly, one year, your insurance company decides that it's the end of the contract year, and they don't wish to renew their contract with you and deny you future coverage, as does every other insurance company in your state. Now you're up shit creek.

That was an incredibly common problem pre-ACA. It's WHY the ACA stopped the practice. Businesses hold big contracts with insurance companies, which is why people who are on their company's business insurance don't get dropped like this, but for a large portion of Americans who get private insurance, it was a stupidly common occurrence.

As I said, you others can care about someone's well-being while at the same time reviling an ideology. I realize this must be an INCREDIBLY hard concept to grasp. Or maybe it's not, and maybe you just like to scream "HYPOCRISY, FAKE CONCERN!" where none exists, because it gets your jollies off and/or justifies your own dislike for liberals to pretend they're evil machiavellian creatures. Or - a simple answer - you're just shit posting, but I guess that falls under getting your jollies off. One of those options.

But not small when it comes to reproductive rights, marriage rights, voter ID laws, defense spending, or border walls, hmmm?

In fact, they only seem to be "small government" when it comes to the direct benefit of businesses.

They haven't been about small government in a long time.

This is nothing more than the nazi GOP committing their first political purge. Like a bunch of Josef Mengeles, they don't care for people and want them to die if they can't afford care. It is basically corporate death panels, where some company can decide your fate based on their bottom-line. But since they hate the poor and middle-class so much, these Greedy Old Pricks will behave like North Korea and murder their own people for political motives.

America became Russia in one hacked and illegitimate election, decided by a former KGB Russian mafia dictator. Kinda reminds me of this:

The irony that these same voters are the ones that despised Obamacare and demanded it to be repealed but love the ACA.

The feds haven't had to do anything to Kansas. Kansas just went basically full red and passed Brownback's tax reform plan which was basically the epitome of trickle down economics. You know...the small government policy shit where everyone gets huge tax cuts and live in Republican paradise.

Except the state has been in an absolute downward spiral since, not having the tax funding to pay for damn near anything, and requiring large amounts of federal funds to keep it from imploding.

edit: Basically, in this case it's the "big government" keeping their people alive since the "small government" approach with low taxation is ripping their state in half and skyrocketed it up the list in rankings for poverty and welfare dependency. And the GOP only want "small government" when it comes to taxation and business regulation.

YOU are the only ones calling them lesser creatures. No one else ever came close to implying this.

Not the Fed. It's the State that's the issue. The Failed Kansas Experiment accomplished by Sam Brownback.

Proponents Promised Massive Tax Cuts Would Deliver Economic Boom What Actually Happened in Kansas however; The promised boom failed to materialize; Kansas’ infrastructure, schools, and bond rating suffered; and a bipartisan coalition tried to reverse the tax cuts.

Since the tax cuts took effect in January 2013, Kansas has lagged the nation in total private employment growth, economic growth, and small business formation

The tax cuts wreaked havoc on Kansas’ ability to invest in its people and infrastructure. To balance its budget, the state employed gimmicks and one-time revenue, delayed road projects, cut services, and nearly drained funds it had set aside to prepare for the next recession. Two bond rating agencies downgraded Kansas due to its budget problems.

The Kansas Supreme Court has ruled that state funding for K-12 education is inadequate and set a June 30 deadline for lawmakers to raise revenue for schools. Kansas’ cuts in school funding since the Great Recession are among the nation’s deepest, with the tax cuts making it hard to restore school funding.

When are we going to finally realize we need to just go to a single payer system? Seriously, I wish people would wake the fuck up and realize this will help solve a lot of the current issues we have with healthcare along with reigning in the costs.

Problem is that to get an actual fully functional system like that is our congressmen have to step up and be filling to put their boots in the asses of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries and actually do something for the people. But because of corporate lobbying running rampant right now, it's unlikely to change.

    Basically this.

The only thing then to argue about is who pays what on taxes for it.

But according to one of the congressmen who voted for it, no one dies from not having healthcare.

It seems you've forgotten who voted for Trump.

I'm sure you'll be reminded soon enough.
