I was extremely impressed with how France handled the email situation in particular. I guess after seeing the damage done in the US by hacks being sent into the media, the French media pretty quickly stepped in and killed the story. That stunt was intended to push a declining Le Pen over the finish line but it blew up in her face and could even possibly lead to harsher Russian sanctions.

either you're in favor of lgbt rights or you're in favor of tolerance of the types that are flooding europe. you can't be pro-lgbt when you're importing people that want to kill them by the hundreds.
So, you don't have any idea of French history or politics.

She and her party reached unbelievable heights in the last years and time is on her side.
The problem Le Pen is facing now is she banked so hard on winning that her party is already infighting over control of the party and platform. She could lose her core support pretty rapidly based on how that continues.

Not Le Pen, but Melechon. Le Pen now has to fight to get the party back.

American provincialism. They do tend to have a hard time conceiving that not everyone is the USA.

I mean I'm American as well but from trying to keep up on the election out of sheer interest, Le Pen's gender didn't even seem to be a consideration. It was always a case of policy vs policy. Le Pen-Russia was more of a topic than her being a woman.

either you care about human rights of everyone IN YOUR COUNTRY, or you don't.

being "tolerant" of these people is antithetical to being pro-lgbt.

I'm okay with this, I would also take being a fuzzy chicken, but parrots are more fun.

By the way, last week's poll gave Macron 59% - Le Pen 41%. Le Pen lost steam during the decisive week.

Yep, you clearly have no idea of what you are talking about. History has everything to do with politics, especially in a country like France.

And if you bothered to see Macron's immigration policy, he has a really solid stance on the matter. Keep France in the Schengen Zone, add ~5000 more guards to the border to strengthen the border and clear out those denied passage, create and fund a plethora of integration programs, reform the asylum system, and push a talent visa program.

Disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. Stronger next time?
