Heroes? Hell, not only do we have heroes, we have hoagies and grinders!
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.

Ned Kelly. A cop killer and bank robber. An Aussie hero for some reason. (it's the armour)

Exactly. Logger, Ice Road Trucker and Deep Sea Fisherman are far more dangerous jobs, yet no one figuratively fellates those guys.

The Aussie hero and his donkey.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

Has anyone said Audie Murphy yet? He asked them to tone down the biographical film made about him, because he didn't think people would believe the shit that actually happened to him.

Robert A. Taft, from Ohio, for criticizing the Nuremberg Trials for trying Nazi war criminals under ex post facto laws. Counter-criticism against Taft's statements was vital to his failure to secure the Republican nomination for President in 1948.

Andrew Jackson. The man who could have single handedly stopped the civil war, had he come later. He would have looked out over the battlefields and said "there's no reason for this."

Trump may have been obliquely referring to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nullification_Crisis .

    Though somehow I doubt it.

Good quote from Pres. Jackson during the events (he was visited by some South Carolinians and asked if he had a message for the state): "Yes I have; please give my compliments to my friends in your State and say to them, that if a single drop of blood shall be shed there in opposition to the laws of the United States, I will hang the first man I can lay my hand on engaged in such treasonable conduct, upon the first tree I can reach."

So maybe () Trump half-remembered that from his time in military school.

True heroes aren't people that are respected.
They are objects of ridicule...derision, and scorn. Standards of honor, courage, self-sacrifice, and high ideals...to fight the good fight, not because they have to, but because they choose to....is just something that nobody cares about anymore.
