Just realized that a lot of anime I really enjoyed hadn't even aired back when Sy made the first thread. Honestly, we're living in a pretty good time for anime, even if it doesn't really feel like it.

I've thought the same thing. In the past 5-7 years we've gotten such a massive deluge of anime that even if there's plenty of not that good ones, there's a crazy amount of great ones. It's just people only think of the good shows from the 2000s because it's been so long that they can filter out all the bad stuff, and say "hey, look at these 30 shows that are amazing in the 2000s, if only we had shows that good today in this amount!" when in reality 2-3 good shows came out a season, and 20-30 bad ones were paired with it that have been easily forgotten 10 years later.

Side note, realized part of why I like Bungou Stray Dogs is because it has a Black Cat vibe to it, and I really did love the Black Cat manga.

Assassin/criminal (Train/Dazai) turns good guy after another person gives their life in an attempt to be a hero (Saya/Oda), ends up partnering up with someone who has good morals (Sven/Kunikida) and has their past haunt them due to not acknowledging a past ally (Creed/Akutagawa).

Granted, it's not a direct comparison of course, but similar!

Honestly I didn't expect to like Altera much, but after playing Extella she became one of my favourite Servants. Which says a lot considering how many there are these days.

I don't really like Nero or Tamamo (that much) so Altera basically carried the game for me.

It's most likely going to stay relatively lit for the season since it's only 12 episodes. Past that point it becomes the most boring shit ever. IIRC it's going to slow down a bit now.
