He was ruthless but insane he wasn't.

As for starving, Britain had rationing way longer then USSR.

That's because we actually had food to ration.

Starving and killing your own people for imaginary reasons are not insanity?

Britain could have easily imported goods from America but choose not to.

Those reasons were quite real at the time. They are only hard to imagine now.

Britain "chosen to starve their people for imaginary reasons" then?

The bells tune at the start of the parade is a strange one.

They have a weird way of celebrating 70 years of relative peace, these russians, especially seeing how what they celebrate it with is not what won the war in the 1st place.

Just a demonstration of might for the populace and especially the veterans who went through really harsh combat often lacking in everything and of course to the Western eyes..

The parade was lead by at least one WW2 vehicle that helped win the battle of Berlin.

The Sherman could be made easily but could blow up just as easily while german tanks was well made its just that they was TOO well made and that they couldn't make enough of them to compete. Then you had the T-34 that could be made in a factory that was being sieged and bombed and literally roll of the production line straight into battle and with its revolutionary sloped armour the Germans couldnt touch it unless they hit it with there big boy tanks like the Tiger which they didnt have enough of!
So, basically the Germans built better tanks just not enough of them. Oh, and Germany's infrastructure was subject to far more bombing than the USSR's.

Russia is broke, Cicero said "money is the sinew of war" like back in zero BC, that's a thousand times more true today. How long could Russia fight before running out of cash? A week?

But wouldn't that mean you were guaranteed to lose and probably die?
Actually, more Soviet troops were killed (even as a percentage of total troops) than German troops despite Germany fighting 2-3 fronts vs the Soviet's one.

Having more drones to throw at us than we could ever hope to kill is Russia's only historic accomplishment, really.

I am happy to let them take pride in their little victory.

Yeah but that doesn't change the fact that a Panther driver is guaranteed to lose the war and probably die whereas a T-34-85 crew is guaranteed to take Berlin and have a better shot at survival.

I just literally said you had a better chance of dying in combat as a Soviet soldier (31% death rate) than a German soldier (29% death rate) despite Germany fighting on several fronts to the USSR's one. Soviet POWs had much higher death rates than German POWs, and post war the Soviet troops were stuck in the USSR while most Germans were in West Germany (thus one could argue the losers won long term).

Lol no, how about we don't thank Russia for bringing economic and cultural ruin to about 60% of continental Europe for the span of several generations, something which effect we are still experiencing today. Also let's not thank Russia for raping and pillaging itself across much of Europe.

Russia in WW2 was like chemotherapy to cancer. It might have killed the cancer but it left you with severe health problems for the rest of your life and needing a kidney transplant.
