Probably due to the average opinion a person holds of an internet/youtube user. The typical it's just some random person on the internet. This train of thought seems to ignore that the internet probably reaches a larger audience than TVs do.

This explanation would be valid if this forum was populated with old people. But I can think of maybe, 4-5 regulars being that old.

You give people undeserved praised. I grant that everyone is aware of the internet as a medium, but i don't agree that everyone recognizes its merits nor those who use it to forward their platforms.

With tvs on the other hand, people are readily prepared to accept the opinion of someone who makes use of it for that purpose. They may not agree with it, but they'll hear it.
