Depends how much stress Malfurion is put under. It's heavily implied in WotA that he has such a close bond with the natural world that his power is only limited by the energy he can draw from the planet, and by proxy - the planet's energy is the limit of his magical strength. He is only ever depicted drawing on such extreme strength though when he is under serious emotional turmoil. So just have her kidnap Tyrande or something and he should flip a shit.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..

The fact she tried to timelock away Tyrande even gives him motive to slap her all they way through the Felstorm.

Plus Elisande is the worst slutmogger in recent WoW NPC history. She deserves to die.
Azshara also pretty much proved in Darkshore during Cata that she can't contend with him as she simply was able to slow him down long enough to keep him out of Hyjal rather than outright battling him or engaging him even. I mean hell the best way to keep him out of Hyjal would be ya know, to kill him.

That thing aside. More than 95% of ppl still haven't realized that that was not Malfurion. sigh! Xavius was quite successful.
I just want someone who do a WoW version of "You're only second rate" from Aladdin 2. But with Malfurion as the Genie and Xavius as Jafar

Without plot armor, time magic is pretty fucking strong. Nozdormu is usually considered the most powerful aspect by a long shot, he just has very very strict rules about how to use his power. Having the Eye of Amanthul, the nightwell and no moral restrictions? yeah good luck without plot armor.

though admittedly, time flows differently in the dream, but there is also a lot less he can do the real world from within the dream.

doesn't that historically make him go super saiyan?
you do realize that being "fucking strong" as you put it, with the eye of aman'thul, the nightwell and no moral restrictions is also plot weaponry right - these guys made stupidly strong, so their adversaries, the heros can come off as great heroes by defeating them via through the plot. They would not be written to have those powers without that intention.

with a video game the motivations can be different, as each subsequen boss/raid is meant to be more powerful and dangerous - in asense so is each expansion - arent' these nightborne supposed to be super advanced magic users who've kept on developing for 10k years? we're not even supposed to be close to them, but enter the elaborate plot where we get set up by nightborne rebels, get power amplified by a lot of their knowledge going into the artifacts we are given all so a 10 man party can do the seeemingly impossible.

Also bear in mind the power is exaggerated to look more dangerous and menacing. And the abuse and cruelty engineered to make you pissed and feel righteous indignation and holy wrath at obliterating them. It's not good if you don't have a way to do that, so you are given one, despite the fact that we shouldn't stand are chance. I mean given the descriptions of them - we shouldn't stand a chance against the Legion, ARthas, Deathwing, the nightborne. Sure the night elves were written to be a titanic race on the near equal footing with the legion, but remember in making htem playable they NERFED them hard, the nightborne simply pick up from that. Why weren't the rebels able too then defeat their kin? well because most of them were withering and only a few fruit had been produced, plus the vast majority of the citizens that eventually rise up against their leaders aren't warriors or magical fighters - nearly all the skilled combatants are loyal to Elisande or power seeking legion lapdogs that become the felborne.

So the rebellion minus a handful of its leaders are no match for what you fight in the nighthold..

plot determines all of it, and how you are able to do the impossible is also part of your plot armor - but you must never forget the strength and power of the enemy is also a plot device.

Personally, I believe that Malfurion (remember his feat in the War of the Ancients)
Elisande has access to the Nightwell and Eye of Aman'Thul
    What do you think?
Elisande. She has the Eye of Aman'Thul, can give herself several chances at the fight and probably already knows the outcome and what Malfurion does next. Malfurion is also probably especially weak right now with the Emerald dream recovering and Ysera being dead.

Ysera being dead has nothing to do with how strong Malf is. She also knew the outcomes of the figth against us. Nozdormu commanded much more power over time than Elisande could dream of and he could not match DW. Time magic simply is not an auto win card in WarCraft.

Beside that kind of magic always tend to backfire or need a ridiculous amount of energy, even with the eye of Aman'thul, Elisande needed some time time creature to maintenance the spell.
