We saw this with Collin Powell and bush, and also with the non-Obamaite half of "Team of Rivals" during Obama's first term.
Patriotic people attempt to be company men/women and protect the country. They fail because there are no controlling Presidents with agendas and staff that enable them. So they leave in short order and write tell all books about how they were never listened to.
McMaster is going to be the latest to join a long line of patriots who tried to be the adult in the room, only to realize that that was never a viable option.
Update, we now know the source country for the information Trump passed to Russia - Israel.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/w...ce-russia.html
And be in no doubt that that information is going to be passed onto Iran, Israel's arch-foe. This just gets better and better. Its going to have huge implications about our relationship with them. They are not the sort to take a breech such as this lightly. My bet is they will use this to press for all sorts of concessions otherwise they will limit their intelligence sharing.
Well done Trump, you've truly fucked things up!
Here's the original WP article. Where in there do they claim that he ID'd the operative? I've been following this thread and haven't seen anyone say that, either.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...=.f5c2ae79cac8
People in the thread and people commentating on the event have said that Trump leaking the information could potentially ID the operative/source/methods to Russia, but I haven't seen anyone claim that he outright outted the operative (like a certain member of the Bush administration did and was never punished for). So please, I really do want to see where this "original claim" is, because if you cite one random person from this thread and use that to show what the "original claim" is, then you really can't see the forest for the trees.
But her emaaaaaiiiiiiiilllllllsssssssss!!!!
You Trumpers crack me up - seriously. Lie, obfuscate, and when caught, turn it right back around to the most ridiculous apologist/whataboutit behavior we've ever seen from that office.
You must be thinking of another thread, because that was NOT the claim put forth here. You clearly haven't read the article you continually comment on, and it's also abundantly clear to us that you have no real experience with actual intel gathering methods. The original claim put forth was that Trumo ID'd the operative who gained the intel. This is what I've been referring to and what all named sources have flatly denied.
Otherwise you'd understand that giving away the information can also give away the source.

It always comes back to people too intellectually dishonest to admit they were wrong. Cracks me up every time.
No matter how much we lay out the facts, @TheWalkinDude and people like him will just cover their heads and hide under the "hillary emails" answer until the jail cell closes on Trump.
At this point there isn't much more we can do to help him - network wire colors not-withstanding. lol
How does revealing this information, and the highly sensitive nature of it, accomplish that goal? How does making our actual allies nervous about sharing highly sensitive information accomplish that goal?
You put too much faith in McMaster because "you just gotta believe". I'm not interested in changing your beliefs, but it'd be nice if you approached the situation with a little more objectivity than "McMaster wouldn't do that".
Holy shit, if this is true this is fucking huge...I was assuming it was one of our Arab allies, but fucking Israel?...
This is strange to me though, because journalists have been saying how they weren't reporting on the source of the intel at the request of the intelligence community. Hell, in their daily podcast this morning NYT confirmed that's why they hadn't reported on it.
So what's changed in the past 6ish hours?
