Same here. "Liberals" in Belgium are a center-right party and are more or less a mix of Democrats and Republicans in American terms. Liberals in my country want a small government, promote entrepreneurship and personal empowerment of civilians in public decision making, but also advocates that everyone carries a personal responsibility to be a good citizen, to build on a good career, etc. and not have the government hand out freebies to freeloaders.

The crux of the Liberal Party in Belgium is promoting initiative and entrepreneurship among individuals with the least amount of government meddling.

I'm an extremely convinced liberal in Belgian terms, but not at all in American terms. What Americans call liberals is more akin to what we consider socialism, or at least social liberalism. Our young liberals (every Belgian party has a youth party to involve youngsters in politics) are more of the special snowflake variant, for example recently advocating to do away with gender-defined toilets. Which is a shit idea of course.

Impeachment can only be staged by a majority in the House I think, so it would take all democrats and republican defectors. Thing is though, republicans know that if they impeach him now, they will spend the next few months on that and that alone, while likely losing the majority in the midterms, so they won't get a lot of their policy proposals through. So, unless he becomes really untenable, they will likely stick with him until they got whatever reforms they want through, or lose a majority.
