Found this YouTuber a few days ago named Super Eyepatch Wolf. His content is really good and presents himself without that snobbery and pompous attitude many people dislike. He created a video about spoilers and their impact on enjoyment and contextual implications. Not looking to incite a discussion, just a cool video. I don't think his topic is anything too enigmatic, but his subject matters at least cause some type of personal introspection, which I do love. Even better, he cites actual studies to support his perspectives!

Just chiming in to vouch that his videos are pretty interesting, enjoyed his "What makes a villain feel real" video even though it's basically what you probably expect to hear.

Watched some of his vids after seeing Digi's youtuber rant, but mostly series I know, so not that many. His latest about Perfect Blue is really good imo.

Literally my issue when I watch things with my girlfriend.

Granted, she's not that bad, but for a perfect example, we both started watching Psycho-Pass for the first time today.

Right during the first episode, she's like "Why would her Psycho-pass be murky now" (During the crime chase scene) and I'm just sitting there like "It's my first time watching this too ya know".

Granted, that was something that could be inferred at that point still, but it's just one example.

While I liked almost all of the characters in Evangelion, you can't really call Shinji a very likeable character.

I could definitely understand him.

I'd say none of the characters in NGE are actually likeable in the true sense of the word because they're all fucked up and make stupid decisions because of that. Despite that I can understand all of them. Their motives are explained and justified to a degree that makes their actions comprehensible.

tbh the only character in the show I disliked was Kaoru, and that was mostly because his introduction was incredibly poor. He popped out of nowhere and was suddenly really important to Shinji, and then I think I was supposed to care about him being an angel.
