Men or not, Ribs should always be visible. Not defined. The skin shouldn't stick to it. But you should be able to identify them without having to press through a layer of fat.

    Seeing ribcages makes me squirm.

I thought that this is something that happens pretty much normally depending on your physique and current pose... I don't really see the "trend" just bikini and underboob picture... which have existed for a very long while... >.>

If I lie down and inhale into my chest while keeping my belly low, like the gals in the pics of the article, my ribcage will be visible too.

When the thread is about it that tends to happen.

Because acknowledging it while at the same time saying the opposite end is also bad is totally "glossing it over" right?

There's a lot of healthy people who have their ribs showing. It's crazy that people just want to blanket stereotype anyone who does as unhealthy.

However...Men's Health thinks it really isn't a trend and that it's just a natural part of being slim.

I mean, realistically, Tenn, you don't have the room to call anyone on body shaming, because you do it all day every day to other people. So find something else to bitch about.

How terrible that society encourages people to not be obnoxiously obese and be healthy.

That said, I find defined rib cages to be pretty disgusting on women. It doesn't look healthy. You should have at least enough meat on you for that not to happen.

Judging by previous incidents people will simply move to something else. Maybe "holding your head high!" proudly showing that they don't have double chins.

Yet so many female athletes have their ribcages showing.

That's fine. I never said there was actually anything unhealthy about it. I just don't find it to be physically attractive. Just my opinion.

Showing ribcage may be too skinny for me. I like my women with some balanced rounds like this

Nothing will replace the thigh gap measurement. Nothing.

That's awesome. Thigh gap, bikini bridge, and now rib cage bragging, I love them all. Hopefully they move on to visible spine next.

Isn't the entire point of the thread thin-shaming rather than fat-shaming or am I confused
