    North Korea fires 'unidentified projectile'

North Korea has fired an "unidentified projectile," according to South Korea's military.

The projectile was fired from Pukchang in south Pyongan province and flew for around 310 miles before landing in waters off North Korea's east coast, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

It was not believed to be a intercontinental ballistic missile, an anonymous military source told Yonhap news agency.

It seems they won't stop doing this.

Perhaps they like their country to become a parking lot.

Well, the moment chubby Kim fires his first rocket to southcorea his country will very fast become one big hole in the asian region.
War within is boring and lazy - beat me to it.

I don't seem to understand what the issue here? how can you demand from a country to drop arms when you are threating them in an almost daily basis?
How about you scrap your nukes and then ask NK to scrap theirs. (in an ideal world everyone should disarm)

Why a country wouldn't be able to do military tests? Oh right, it's North Korea thus they can't . They still are a rightful sovereign government. I'm pretty sure EU, US, and even private corporations do military tests likes this and you don't bat an eye. What is the fundamental difference?

You can try to bomb their artillery first, but then NK IS entitled to retaliate. So unless you are willing to give up Seoul at least in parts, you are chained.

I'm pretty sure you can test weapons but when you test weapons and show a video to the entire population of your country showing that the weapon can blow up america, people are gonna get pissed off and not want them to do tests anymore.

    I'm surprised Poseidon hasn't retaliated

Yeah pretty much in the first 10 minutes of the war Seoul will be devastated. They have 1000s of guns in range, loaded, supplied, and heavily fortified / spread out enough that it would be impossible to take enough out fast enough to prevent it. It is in fact their best deterrent to any aggression against them. Nuclear weapons are just a means to project that deterrent out towards Japan and other larger South Korean cities and eventually towards the United States.

Just remember that these things are really all just about keeping a little fat angry kid alive and in power. So even if he believed he could take out all of California, South Korea, and Japan in one swift strike and take them all by surprise it means one little fat angry kid is likely dead and out of power because everything that keeps that little fat angry kid in power turns to ash in about 27 minutes or less. So it makes it just a very unlikely move for him to ever make. But he does love attention and believing that he is what is directing the course of the world with his actions. Nuclear and missile testing has suddenly put him front and center.

This is a very common theme with North Korea. For years they would fire some shells at an island. Fly some planes aggressively towards the south. Posture military forces along the boarder. But the world stopped giving much of a fuck about it. It was an old story. This pissed off a little fat angry kid so he stepped up to the next tier of weapons to get that attention back.

He has a western education, doubt he believes that. North Korea is like a tarantula, its just shelling some uninhabited piece of land instead of urticating hair when it feels threatened.

You don't think people in the west have ego enough to want to do provocative things to direct the actions of others...

    Have you seen the internet?

When the EU or US starts threatening Australia and Japan with nuclear weapons, this might change.

Because NK specifically threatens the west, SK and Japan to blow everyone up with their nukes.

And then they test more nukes.

See why people are getting nervous about this?

Yep pretty much. Even though NK's technology and weapons are from the 1950's, artillery is still artillery. You can't stop an artillery shell once it's fired, basic physics (well, short of Star Trek-style shields or something).
