Unless you can provide some scientific stuff for that, I can tell you my personal non-scientific experience that I can smell it from much further. Maybe only if winds and whatnot aligns, but it doesn't matter anyway, it infirges my right to clean air and you cannot control it other than not smoking at all.

so again explain why we shouldnt lump tobacco in with other drugs? It does far more damage than others.

Seems kind of similar to what we have here in Finland. We don't like smoking in here.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoking_in_Finland
    http://nordic.businessinsider.com/fi...pensive-2017-1

"Being the first country in the world to have enshrined the goal of getting rid of smoking in legislation signed in 2010, Finland has quite a history of making life tough for smokers: advertising of nicotine products has been banned since 1978, smoking at the workplace since 1995 and in bars and restaurants since 2007. Since 2012, the only nicotine products retailers are allowed to keep on public display are smoking cessation aids such as chewing gum and plasters."

"According to a statement given to Länsiväylä by Satu Kattilamäki, quality and environmental manager at HOK-Elanto, one S-Market store in Espoo is seeing their fee rise from €215 in 2016 to €4000 this year. The fee for a nearby Prisma store ballooned to €12500, having been only €470 the previous year."

"Stores are seeing fees multiply to the point that selling cigarettes is becoming unprofitable."

"In fact, many retailers are now saying the fee increase makes selling nicotine products unprofitable and that if it weren’t for smokers also spending money on food, they wouldn’t be selling cigarettes at all."

My Grandpa did chewing tobacco and it is nasty and you have to spit it out somewhere. It ruins your teeth, raises chance of cancer in your mouth. Although probably not as bad as when I was 7 and had an entire bag of sour skittles in my mouth at once. Was a dare for 5 bucks. My taste buds were killed for like a week.

Also, smoking causes global warming.. Kappa

I though its' cancerousness comes mostly from it being smoked, I mean it's oxidised not fully and it would be the same if you tried to smoke, lets say, tea leaves or anything really. Just that fully oxidised things are generally neutrall for health, not fully are usually deadly one way or another. Or were I wrong?

well, it's nice to see a contrarian get hurt. if you specifically tell someone not to do something and they do it anyway, they deserve to get hurt. though i'd just use lashings and not executions. lashed for hours and hours a day for a week or two depending on what you did.

it definitely gives you mouth cancer. coming into contact with a carcinogen isn't good, whether breathing it in or just touching it.

Surely, but organic substances generally aren't directly cancerous, they become such while they are oxidised (burned) not fully. Not burned purely organic ones should never be cancerous directly, otherwise they'd cause cancer in the very plant they're from.

I don't know what exactly a true 'chewing tobacco' is, maybe it's processed one way or another and is actually dangerous?

just chewing the tobacco plants will probably cause cancer too.

for the chew stuff, it's brownish looking, so it's definitely burnt in the process of making it.

Fuck that shit in the ass with a 7 in wide dick. It's bad enough I have to go outside, more often than not in the rain, to smoke because of people's sensitivity. Fuck that, I smoke, and you don't. Lemme get my cancer on and move on. Don't like it? Piss off. I remember when I could smoke almost anywhere, even on airplanes. Now, because of the pussification of society, I can't spank my child nor smoke in the entire zone of a hospital. Breathe the air more, fucker (pointing at non-smokers). You'll die of that faster than you will my exhaled smoke. You'll die of lung cancer because you sit in traffic for hours, moron. The air is worse than my 4 or 5 mins of smoke that is dissipated by the air.

So fucking tired of non-smokers and pussy society getting their way. I am a smoker and I want my rights. If you take away my rights, and you are a weed head, then you're a hypocrite. Plain and simple. Also, you're a fucking moron (general statements, not pertaining to any member that has posted).

lol the irony, complaining about their sensitivity, and calling non-society pussies.

yet you'll lose your shit and go mental without that cigarette for a few hours? days? who seems like a sensitive pussy now :s

I agree 100% with this public ban, the majority of the people I meet or see smoking end up throwing their used cig butts everywhere on the ground even when they have a bin placed right near the area they in.
This is a filthy habit that steals not only your health but the health of the people around you.

It is already banned in public areas in a lot of States in the US. That way here in Ohio. But totally banning it for adults to smoke and not cause any harm to others? That is going too far.

I don't really care about smoking but what I do think we should give the death penalty for people who smoke half a cigarette, put it out and put it back in their pack. It really stinks frickin awful when people do this.

Are we going to ban Alcohol again while we are at it since it too is a drug
"How you build your character is not a feature of a MMORPG, it is the feature. Everything else is secondary even the gameplay itself is secondary to building your character, its the kind of stuff you think about when you are at work or school and couldnt wait to go home to play WoW or Diablo 2. We have all done it." ~Into, 2016

This only exists on paper though. What actually happens when there is a smoker in a 'public area'? You call cops, but before they come he has already finished his cigarette and might be even gone. Then the actual victim is you who reported him, because you waste your time on testimony over some random person who won't get caught anyway.

Laws like gradually increasing taxes on cigarettes without actually banning them seem to work better.
