Oooo, false equivalency disguised as discourse in the form of a "got'cha."
Cute.
Oh I was wondering why this seemed somewhat familiar. YAF is one of those groups that suckle on billionaire cocks, or rather more specifically Kochs
Oh, no. The foxy conservatives are at it again.
This is pretty much dumbest argument they could make. Like they have to be good to make such a shitty argument.
What a stupid and perfidious attempt to discredit socially thoughtful students. Equating GPA with wealth is beyond ignorant. I'm not American, but as I understand the GPA is used to determine whether a student can enroll in a College, right? College education is very expensive, so it makes very much sense that only the best students are allowed in. Students with a lower GPA are more likely not to succeed, therefore a lot of money would go to waste. The GPA is not a "reward" for studying, it is an indicator for society if it is a good idea to invest more money in your education.
I am currently imagining a right wing hillbillie who thinks he is "that smart" by fooling "liberurls".
Seems the idiot is the right wing guy here, and not his "victims".
Some people do not understand what this thing was meant to start. It should help those "commies" lovers students to think about how socialism is all about equality NOT being fairly. Communism in USSR is also good example of how socialism do not work (another would be the Third Reich socialism).

Redistrubution of wealth does not incentivize anyone to move up in the world. Poor people would do less than what they are doing now and you would breed a new generation that expects to be taken care of. And then what happens when all the rich people leave? and all the companies leave? well guess what no more redistribution from that top 1% everyone hates. And the middle class cant support your thievery so they suffer even more, and the government gets what they want, the population relying on them for everything. Except we know from history the government cant support that and then boom it all collapses.
I remember my poli sci classes. All the first year scrubs with their Che t-shirts, Campus Communists. Extolling the virtues of Marxism/Maoism. Yes, I had a supervisor in the tutoring center who spent her college years carrying around her little red book and knowing absolutely nothing about the world outside California where she grew up.
And she was in her 50s by this point.
I sort of miss the airheaded idealism of college, God bless their little hearts.
Umm... I fail to see the connection here.
Grades are pretty much only susceptible to your effort (barring any mental disorders, but those are usually accounted for by the teachers).
Getting a good job in real life depends on so much more than just grades and willingness to work hard. You need a portion of LUCK because competition is insane.
That being said: total redistribution is not justice. Effort should be rewarded or no one would go out of their way to attempt to excel.
But a partial redistribution may be in order, because our society and technology continue to develop into a direction where fulltime employment of all citizens is simply no longer necessary to keep things running.
As such I would be very much in favor of a unified general income that meets the basic need in order to survive. If you want extras & luxury... you will have to work at least part time though.
False equivalency. The biggest failure of these kids is that they didn't point that out right away.
