My first thought when I read this; the suspect was arrested. So he was probably white. When this happens with a non-white shooter, it usually says "suspect shot dead at scene".

So the dude goes to talk to his ex and her new husband about taking his kids. That usually a pretty grim situation regardless of everything else. However that interaction went down, neighbors saw and got involved. Looking at the map of this very small town, about 500 people and it looks like it's tucked into a wooded area with a few collections of houses. I don't see what happened next though. Did the neighbors call the cops then come over, or did the guy shoot the cops when they showed up then go around shooting everyone he thought could have called them?

Stating a fact is not bashing, even if you are oversensitive about it.

I really like the US. Just came back from CA 2 days ago, going every year. But it's a fact that the country has a serious issue with gun violence and gun culture in general. And you can search it up, Switzerland has one of the highest weapon per capita in the western countries after the US. I myself have an automatic rifle at home. Hardly an anti gun country.

The difference ? All swiss with a weapon is trained by the army. And we don't let crazies have guns. No survivalist independist sovereign citizen bullshit.

Train weapon owners and don't let crazies get one, no matter the country, period.

But most states regulate on how that is done to the extent like in Ohio, you need a permit to carry a firearm concealed. And getting caught without one if you are carrying concealed, is a felon. I had to go thru two background checks and attend a training class to get my permit. The one issue we do have however, is ease of access to firearms thru private sales, both legally and the black market.
