Dp you judge Godfather Part 3 based on Godfather 1and 2? Do you evaluate Batman Forever based on Batman Returns? Of course not. You objectively judge each movie based on its own merits. It's a pretty unintelligent view to serious believe that movie company is incapable of improving its product or responding to customer feedback, especially since there is already plenty of evidence to suggest that it has already happened.

But go on, continue sitting in the "Hurr hurr DCEU will always be bad" camp.
You do judge prior movies when you watch a newer one whether you realize it or not. They are made by the same company with the same overall congruency so they fit together. Not saying it can't be good, but saying earlier movies affect people. Like when action scenes and dialogue "feel" the same as earlier movies. It's something you notice more after seeing a lot of movies and are able to identifying directors and styles of studios just watching the movie.

I was excited about the last 4 DC movies and disappointed after seeing each of them, which makes me hesitant to see this one. I haven't seen anything that has made me think otherwise and the trailers looked like more of the same.

If I step on a nail 4 times, I'm not gonna magically think the fifth time might not hurt. Im gonna be hesitant about it.

See I can do bad analogies to.

What's the general feeling about it? Critics seem to love. What about people in general?

EDIT: I'm barely standing on my feet, it's 1AM here. Film is released in two days. Nevermind me.

I guess since its coming so soon in part of the world i can start discussing some stuff if anybody saw it yet. One thing this movie has is it feels like its on its own in the DCEU and the other movies just arent linked just yet but i think one big give away of the WW movie, tells us exactly where this character will go in the justice league movie. Massive spoilers so dont click on this unless you have actually seen the movie or you really, really dont care. The best origin of wonder women, has her get her powers and weapons from different greek god and godess, however in this movie, while Diana is still a gift from zeus to Hippolyta, turns out shes also a weapon crafted by Zeus, the god killer. The one in this movie being Ares the god of war, which defeated olympus, killed zeus and plunged the world of men into perpetual wars for centuries. What we can conclude from this, WW will actually save the world in the DCEU. She was made with the sole purpose of killing gods and guess whos the enemy BvS hinted at? Darkseid a new god.

I dont mind this change or anything, what i like about trinity is the fact its combines 3 being from totally different area. A normal human, an Alien and a magic mythological warrior. Making her the world protector against gods, seems appropriate.

Yes, the key is talking to your kids and making sure they understand about the differences of movies vs reality, that you know what they can handle, and so on before letting them see a movie. My parents let me watch R rated horror movies from the time I was 10 as well, and I didn't grow up messed up, or violent, or anything of the sort.

LoL exactly this. I didn't think there was a chance this would start below 80-85%, regardless of quality (the same will happen with Black Panther for sure).

Half the glowing reviews are already bringing up the feminist implications and how this a stab at the patriarchy and/or "fanboy entitlement". Looking forward to when we can get back to judging things on their own merit. Can you imagine if Catwoman had come out now? It'd be held up as a progressive masterpiece

Having positive hopes anyway for this film; trailers look good and Snyder isn't connected. Plus it sounds like they're trying to make her an actual bonafide honourable Hero, which is something the DCEU has really been missing.

If you are 15 years and the movie ends after 10 PM you cant watch it without a adult that bring you home.
The U.S. has the most fucked up rules regarding kids and movies/tv. It's beyond ridiculous. As a small note, I believe they have since changed the age rules now, and you cannot bring a child 6 or under to an R rated movie.

For instance, the television show Hannibal (not the movie) has some of the most horrific gore I've ever seen - period. It's done remarkably well, not a blood bath but more of what a psycho would do while being a serial killer. But some of the scenes are, well, intense.

When the show was being marketed to various channels to broadcast, HBO passed on it because it was too gory. HBO. Game of Thrones. Showing a child being hung. Passed on Hannibal. Let that sink in for a moment.

Do you know who picked it up? NBC - a regular, free, network television channel - anyone could watch it, including unproperly supervised children.

But NBC can't even show a breast without getting fined hundreds of millions of dollars.

    It's truly fucked up here.

Remember a tv program that went with real emergency personnel in there work. A guy was stabbed? and was bleeding, you see the pain and fear in his face and the blood, and his wailing "I do not want to die" His frend call out for helpe and saying somthing like Hurry up BEEEP he is bleeding to death!

Show a man in a life-threatening situation ok, his fear, pain and blood ok.... his frends profanity oooo no that can be upsetting.....

Now this usually drops once the general populace gets to see it, but on average it seems like it drops ~5% max.

Looks like DC is back? Honestly I hope so because Marvel needs some competition. Also, The Dark Knight has settled at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and I hold that in my mind as the best superhero movie ever made. If WW is genuinely better or at least comparable to that I can't wait to see it.
Rotten Tomatoes are owned by Warner Bros and they made Wonder Woman..

I'm hoping this movie does well. I'll be seeing it this weekend. It seems like an important movie on a couple of levels. First, if it's a hit, it's the first non-Batman/non-Superman movie from DC Comics's superhero pantheon to do so. (I don't count Suicide Squad or WATCHMEN, but perhaps I should?) Second, a female lead superhero is the one thing DC films have that Marvel Studios so far does not have.

I'd kinda like to see the DC film universe lighten up a bit more. The JL trailers seem to indicate that Batman is softening. Maybe when Superman comes back things will look brighter and more colorful.

Think of it as an attempt at population control. We don't want kids to be interested in breasts... or to grow up thinking of sex as something fun and enjoyable.

Seeing a positive light shining in it, from the usual YouTube reviewers that share lots of interests that align with mine. Will give it a go.

Now that this movie is approaching release, let's start to steer away from the paranoid fears of pandering, etc, and actually discuss the movie (which includes whether it fulfills the fear of that pandering).

In other words: let's start to address the contents of the film itself, not the current counterculture surrounding it.

Considering that when Superman returns, he's going to be in his black outfit, the words "bright" and "colorful" isn't likely to be applicable anytime soon

A female friend said it looks like Captain America, I think it will flop because why would people bother to go see it? I'm not talking about whether movie is good or not, but why someone would bother to go to the cinema for that movie n pay for it. It's a superhero movie n ww1 and greek gods and, and, and...well, a bit confusing trailers. My interest level is 0.

People would go to the cinema and pay for it cause they want to see it? Cause they think it looks good? Cause they are fans of the source material? You know...the same fucking reasons people go to the cinema to see ANY movie?
