Or some minor unbans for Modern e.g.
Legacy and Modern look pretty good rn, aside from there being no control decks that are playable in Modern, so something for that would be great.

Yeah B/R announcements come briefly after a pro tour I think, basically after each set.

They hate unbanning stuff, but something could probably come off the ban list, although what who knows.

Control decks everywhere are in a bit of dire straights, thanks to the lack of answers the last couple of years and any draw spell being too good.

Legacy still has top-less Miracles that seems to be deece at the very least and random things like Czech Pile and such.
And... idk how far Mentor decks in Vintage count as control or Tempo or just their own thing, Vintage is weird like that anyway.

In Modern there aren't really any that can do well for more than a flash in the pan.
And Standard.. idk, UR Control is a thing, kinda? But I'm not educated enough on it to say if it's played bc people wanna play that kinda deck or bc it actually has legs.

Standard control is only barely a thing. Being able to stop both Marvel/Ulamog and Zombies is a tall order for any deck to deal with at the moment. With the only real answers being Fumigate and Fatal Push, dealing with almost any threat is a little difficult to say the least.

Usually they do B/R on Tuesdays and they said they wanted to focus on other things, which means we could be seeing something banned or unbanned. Frankly I'm betting on Ulamog or Marvel banned. Being able to win consistently on turn four is huge. Honestly I think Ulamog would be the one to go though, but Marvel means they have to watch what they print for the next year.

And we got our first news @Djorana, and it's a doozy.

First, core sets are coming back. WOOHOO, I say personally.

Second, there will be no more "blocks", which goes into the third point.

Third, every plane we go to can last any number of sets, from one to however many they choose for story reasons. This is what it will look like.


Fourth, the Gatewatch will show up on less planeswalker cards. The Gatewatch will even show up less, sometimes this will mean less characters and other times it may be seeing none of them, but they will still be around and we will still have those times where they are around for the entire story of a plane or more.

Fifth, Masterpieces won't be in every set. Hour of Devastation will have them, but Ixalan will not.

Bethesda's whole selling model this year was "here's a game we already made, here it is now in VR. Here's this game that we made six years ago, it's gonna be out on the new system. That game is also gonna have paid DLC you can already get for free."
