Thread: Old tier tokens

    Question Old tier tokens

    I've just come back to the game from a LONG break, and saw that tier tokens can now be right clicked to make the item rather than going to the vendors around the world.

    What I'm worried about, is that when we right click say T4 Mage chest or something, which version will we get? I want the T4 but will I get the pvp version? How does the token know which item to give me?

    eg: http://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=557/aldor-regalia - This set. If I get: http://www.wowhead.com/item=29762/pa...he-fallen-hero - will it turn into T4, or turn into stuff for this set: http://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=734

    It'll only turn in to tier, T4 mage will give you the aldor regalia, if you want the recolor that is gladiator's silk armor, you need marks of honor from BGs/PvP WQ's

    Because you'll get T4 not whatever season of PVP it is. You would go buy the PVP version from the vendor in SW/Org/Etc if you wanted that appearance.

    If it's a "Tier Token" you will get PvE Tier. To get "Vintage" PvP gear, you need to go to Area52, and buy them from the Vendors for "Marks of Honor" you can buy individual pieces, or complete sets.

    Edit: Post TBC PvP Gear is sold, same method, in the sewers of Northrend's Dalaran. from Cata on they are sold at their appropriate vendors.

    I'm not quite sure how you can be confused or worried about this. If you obtain a token for a Tier set, which is only available in PVE, and you get the Tier token from a PVE encounter, how on earth would you possible be getting anything but the PVE Tier piece? There are no tokens for PVE recolours and the PVP versions you buy with another currency, like you always have.

    You can still use the tokens as currency on the Isle of Quel'Danas.

    These new tokens are only in WoD and Legion raids, older tier tokens work as they always have.

    Not since 7.2;

    Set tokens for all raids from Serpentshrine to Siege of Orgrimmar have been updated to provide loot for your spec on right-click, in the same manner as newer raid set tokens. The vendor functionality of these items has not been changed.

    (NB this states from T5)

    Old tier tokens were converted to work the same way in 7.2

    On the Isle of Quel Danas are/were vendors that let you trade in tier 4 raid tokens for season 1 gear, it was an attempt to make it easier for people to get into pvp, but didn't really work as very few people would have excess tokens to use for it.
    http://www.wowhead.com/npc=26090/karynna Is one of them, I think there are two if memory serves.

    To the OP, as far as I am aware, you can no longer hand in tier tokens for the BC sets, instead, like others have said here, you can earn Marks of Honor from pvp and then turn them in at Area 52 in Netherstorm.

    You could get the tier tokens and buy PvP gear in Quel'danas, that's why OP is confused. There used to be useful in that way (I got my t4 and t4 recolor that way, like I always did) before the Honor Marks were a thing.
