Actually that's not fair at all. If you walk into a public school in America, probably 8/10 (or higher) kids have them somewhere in their pockets or backpacks. I know, I saw it in my classroom. And I teach at a highly ranked, affluent school - just for when you come out and say all the kids at my school must be special needs.

It's literally the most popular toy out there.

Do you live in a cave? Honestly, every gas station has them, every supermarket, every grocery store, they are in memes galore. So to say you have never seen or heard of them, like how disconnected are you? I have a teenager, so I get I probably know more about "what them crazy kids are up to" than someone without.
