Vladimr Putin offers James Comey asylum in Russia

Speaking in his annual question and answer session in Moscow, the Russian President said it was "very strange" that the FBI official had leaked details of conversations with Donald Trump, and likened his actions to those of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

"If there is some kind of persecution, we would be ready to offer political asylum to Mr Comey if he is persecuted in the US", Mr Putin told a live audience.

Of course this is a bit of a joke, but he does raise an interesting parallel between Comey and Snowden.

The hard evidence isn't going to be released yet but there are obviously recordings of meetings with Kislyak because the intelligence community seems to have a lot of knowledge of which campaign surrogates met with the ambassador. You also have statements from Pence and Sessions that contradict things that they have been briefed on which should make any sane person pause to think about what's going on here.

The most telling evidence of all is certainly circumstantial but Trump himself has made no attempt to figure out what happened with Russia's interference in an American election. You'd figure any world leader who had been told that a foreign power interfered in their voting process would be outraged and would even in passing make some comment to look into it but Trump has been completely silent on the matter.

Certainly the dots have not all been connected yet but to say there is no evidence is just flat out false.

I know it's what you were told to say, but you got your talking point wrong. It's Dianne Feinstein, and what she said twice is that she has not seen evidence, not that there is no evidence.

The first time, Blitzer asked "Do you have evidence" after she was briefed about an unrelated issue at CIA HQ. I.e. something that would not give her evidence.
