Maybe this portal is a giant OLED screen that shows you what is on the other side and when you touch it it teleports you there.

You don't know, you're not a Burning Legion Engineer, as far as I know.

Plus, in real life, Mages don't exist, neither do Blood Elves, nobody lives up to thousands of year, and when you die, well you die. If you're into that kind of real stuff, you should be playing GTA V instead of WoW, maybe.

You have the same misconception like many people on this forums..mixing up the fantasy and fable...the first one have rules (hell, sometimes even magic have scientific approach) usually those general rules, laws are the same like our real Earth (gravity, breeding, life support requirements (not specified, but usually oxygen, water, food) the races are bipedal humanoids most of the time (in western fantasy at least..in eastern...bit different) etc.) The fantasy world have it`s own background (May i suggest Raymond E. Feist Riftwar series? One of the best fantasy books ever...and ofc the rest of his bibliography Or David Gemmel and his Drenai Series? Another masterpiece especially the Waylander arc)
In fables anything might happen without any logical explanation, no background for the "world", no deeper connection with anything.....

World of Warcraft started long time ago as fantasy world with rich background informations ..nowadays reminds me the lowest quality fables.....

How is this in any way a retcon? It just explains that Kil'jaeden's motivation for initially siding with Sargeras was fear of the Legion, and that his anger towards Velen stemmed from jealousy of not just his gifts, but his will to defy Sargeras. Unlike Archimonde, who was just thirsty for power and had no particular grudge against Velen.

And we already know that Sargeras started the Burning Crusade because he was trying to "reboot" the universe, for fear that the Void Lords would corrupt a nascent Titan and conquer reality completely. He would rather destroy everything, with the hope that the conditions to rebirth the universe should occur again someday, and that reality might be remade without the threat of their influence.

So I saw the cinematic. I'm starting to wonder if the Horde is ever going to be a part of the story again.

Yeah, it's kind of shitty that an orc wasn't there to witness Kil'jaeden's fall, since Kil'jaeden was ultimately responsible for their corruption.

Bolvar should have been present during the fight, so that Ner'zhul could speak through him and deliver some final insult to Kil'jaeden. Kil'jaeden realizing that he was defeated by Ner'zhul would have honestly been a more fitting end than Velen giving him peace. It's a nice moment for Velen, but Kil'jaeden didn't deserve any sympathy after everything he's done, regardless of his motivations.

''Somtimes the hand of fate must be forced''. Same thing Illidan said when he summoned the Naga in WC3 The Frozen Throne opening cinematic.

Please tell me Argus stays up in the sky like that permanently once KJ is dead. That would give some serious FF7 Meteor vibes..

That it does, as seen in the picture below the cinematic.

Whether it'll stay there forever after the end of Legion or it'll be destroyed or the rift closed, who knows! :P

Yeah my "worry" was that it would stay for a limited time like the blue dragonflight in SW after someone got the legendary staff or the sky in Dalaran after handing in the Algalon quest item. If it's permanent until a certain future point in the story that is really cool.

Agreed! That would indeed have been really silly.

But thankfully we can enjoy the sight of Argus for a while now and then we can start taking bets whether:

    1. It'll stay like that.
    2. It'll get blown up and be fragments of planet in our sky.
    3. We'll make it look better somehow by "saving" it.

It's gonna be so exciting! ^_^

And Kil'Jaeden, saying to Velen that perhaps "he could prove him wrong" felt like perhaps, for a little moment, that he and Velen's relationship went back through time - right before Sargeras' made the pact with the Draenei. It packed quite a punch.
I assume that you're one of those Indian cinema fans, aren't ya?

Of course, laws of physics should be respected. But we're talking about a magical portal. Not a wormhole. Argus is not physically here. There is no way to say "This portal should convey the gravitational pull from planet A to planet B". It would be dumb anyway. This is not a plothole, like, at all.

if you are seriously serious take a big fucking serious look at the warcraft universe, its story and the beings existing in it, then come back bitching about there not being real life laws of physics.

Gravity is still a thing, don't come here all smug and tell me it suddenly went out the window

Ha, i liked how Velen was like "fuck you" and obliterated Killy-J just like pimp Orc Gul'Dan obliterated punk Varian. He wasn't giving him a vision or giving him his last rites... he was giving him the final fuck you.

Do you know the consequences of an object of planetary propotions SUDDENLY appearing right next to the existing one? Given that that large portal allows physic objects and radiation of all sorts to pass through (which it does, cause we can actually SEE Argus through it) the gravity fields are immediately established between these two planets which will lead to the imminent Azeroth orbit shift. Which in turn will bring us quite a handful of obvious consequences. And I won't even bother mentioning the moon of Azeroth casually floating through that portal eventually.

But - okay, Billzord Inc. were never too smart in terms of physics. I'm inclined to let this one slide. Magic and whatnot. Fine.
if gravity goes through portals, wouldnt the size of the portal be irrelevant. if there were to be problems, those same problems would happen with a person sized portal and a planet sized portal. hell if gravity goes through portals wouldnt a portal from azeroth to azeroth fuck things up as well, suddenly two large masses are next to each other through a portal.

Went to their wowprogress. It states that for 500k donation to the guild bank one of their player can choose how to rename the guild until next donation.

    I find that extremly fun.

Except the zone you fight and kill him from 100 to 0 is actually called The Twisting Nether
