I don't think we have enough police for that here.
They don't just raid the homes of anyone posting hateful shit on the internet. This is on a much bigger scale. For example, we have the G20 summit in my city in 3 weeks. Already left-wing extremists are beginning to cause problems here. Just last Monday public transport was basically brought to a short halt because they committed arson attacks on the railway lines. Do you fathom what would happen to a city if all connecting railways were interrupted? That's the type of stuff those people called for. Not "Duh, I hate refugees" more like "kill all refugees!"

The average Russian person really doesn't like seeing homosexuals. It's just a sad truth. There are obviously many Russians who oppose all of that, unfortunately they are a minority. If they weren't, we'd see much more movement involving this issue.

But we don't. So in a weird twist of fate, Putin for Russia is the best there is. He's doing quite exactly what the vast majority of Russians approve of.

Also, gay people can even flamboyantly walk through many cities in Russia, especially cities like Sotchi and Moscow. My wife has quite a lot of gay Russian friends.

Rural areas dislike them, and generally you aren't allowed to promote it. Which sucks, but that's what they apparently want.
Just FYI, Moscow, Sochi, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg are bad representation of Russia. They are kinda "face" of Russia, so government actively tried to make them appealing, but go to something like Yekaterinburg, Perm, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky you'll see much clearer picture. In fact, right now, Cyprus copper company attempts to illegally ravage our soil (10km from the city i live in, near the only drinking water source they plan to make 540meters + 350meters craters to leach copper (and off course dump all the nasty shit they use to leech it in there)). That's a fucking problem, especially in a "year of ecology" (c) Putin, which is so mind boggling to hear your president to announce while a city with a population of 1+ million is about to die because of ecological catastrophe. That's a fucking problem of an average Russian, someone being gay is not a problem, it's even rarely mentioned. There are off course blind and naive people who can't see past their nose and seek for problems and conflicts, who may consider someone being gay to be a problem.

You know, there are more than 1 person in russia, and people who know nothing more about russian politics than "Putin" are worse than Putin himself.

Shit that sucks to hear. I was always confused about how Putin can even manage an area of a size like Russia. You live close to freaking Kazakhstan. That's 1800km away from Putin. Does he even know wtf is going on there?

The amount of concern for the environment (=none) is par for the course for (post-)Soviet governments. Even if/when they know. I've seen a few of our rivers bleached clean and I don't even live in Russia.

True, but the difference is that in GTA3 you're only shooting (and robbing, murdering, having sex with, etc) pixels. In WOW you get the pleasure of dealing with some of the most despicable human behaviour you'll ever witness.

The problem is that people often dismiss constructive criticism as racism, almost by default. Ad hominems, baseless ranting and dismissing everything as racism leads to no constructive discussions taking place.

And who is "wanting to overthrow the government"?

Although I think nobody should be allowed to issue death threats or anything of the like in social media I am actually worried about the political developement as a German in Germany.

The political dialogue has pretty much come to a halt. It basically amounts to "everything that's right wing is evil and therefore "forbidden".
If you critizise Brussel lobbycrats you are a filthy nationalist and therefore your point is invalid and you are "rightwing"/Nazi.
If you critizise free trade agreements you are a nationalist and potentially a Nazi, too.
If you are a citizen who is worried about their place in this country in the future, worried about the fast changes, you are "rightwing", possibly Neonazi, too.

Curiously goverment officials can openly insult citizens who don't agree with their policies without any backlash from anywhere.

Additionaly the Merkel government has been ammassing power, taking it away from the federal states, thereby taking it away from the citizens. Today the goverment will approve a law to to allow goverment agencies to hack the smartphones of German citizens.

In my book, Merkel is nothing more than a Trump with a vagina (and a better haircut obviously)

Germany have a history with far-right bullshit. I'm not surprised they take it more seriously than most other countries.

Nazis are. Racists usually are, since the current Government usually is one of the sources of evil that enables these foreigners to come into the country. Say, do you follow German politics? The AfD is one such party that tries to skirt the fine line you are inferring here. Just recently, someone leaked exerpts from their Whatsapp channel in which party leaders openly used slogans of the NPD, a hardcore nazi party. And they not only repeat those slogans, they openly discuss how they could overthrow the Government and implement fascist rule in Germany again. How they'd have to purge the media, sack every CEO in media companies and force everyone into line.

This isn't an idle threat. This is actual politicians in Germany's extreme right wing talking like that. This is not theoretical. The party leader confirmed those messages, albeit tried to downplay them. This isn't constructive criticism. This is the people you're defending belonging to the same group that wants to actually, literally repeat the Nazi power grab and install the 5th Reich, if you want to call it that. They even talk about expansion plans. Is this verbatim enough for you?

They already were illegal before, or those people would not have been punished. The law you talk about wants to punish social media outlets if they dont ban illegal content, as like public insults or sedition. Currently, social media is not being held responsible for their content, and the government wants to make laws to give them responsibility. Its just about allowing justice to fine social media outlets like facebook or twitter, if they dont react in a given time.

Putins media outlets try to pretend that germany is adding laws that allow them to punish controversial opinions about immigration, which is just not true. There is no limiitation for anyone in germany to have controversial opinions about immigration, liberalism and democracy, you just may not ask people to get guns and kill everyone for that sake, as you also may not publically denounce groups of people or personalities.

I am german and I am proud to be german.
With all the refugees - and believe me: there are alot (I am living next to the austrian border) - the peoples acceptance is decreasing by time. The main problem is: We are not talking about asylum anymore, we are talking about integrating them in our society - which is almost impossible due to the lack of people who can care about the refugees or the religion problems and so on.

So now the mind of the people is swichting slowly. Getting more and more radical. At the moment I live in austria and over here, the majority of "political-right-oriented" people is growing rapidly. The same is with germany.

Trying to raid people who post racism stuff, is a poor attempt. Its fighting against wind-mills. The main reason why people are so angry is something else. Unsecured borders of the EU. This is just my opinion. Another thing is: Many are just so angry, because they cant do ANYTHING. Now even if they would never offend some immigrants in real life, they do this in the internet (with the anonymity). One has to understand some of our people, who are just angry and dont know what else to do.

Merkel has not more power than before, nothing actually changed in that context. You know, in germany, justice and government are different units, and not combined, so the government is not getting any more power by allowing justice to access smartphone in court cases, but instead allowing a broader range of investigation for criminal cases.

In your book, the AFD also is a democratic party, i assume. And in your book, Russia Today is a valid media outlet. As you quote their stereotypes.
