Money is a mark of success (not always the case though), i'd rather follow someone with it than without it.
Money is not the root of all evil it just reveals what was below the surface therefore character should be the determining factor on whether you follow someone.

And before you spread your deplorable lies and attempt to deflect with whataboutery, let me point out the fact that Obama's team didn't have any notable people from Goldman Sachs. He gave Wall Street the great Dodd-Frank act, a regulatory law so effective that Wall Street and their GOP stooges, like Trump, have been doing everything they can to rip it up and crash the economy again.
And they're all probably liberal Jews

In a way you can understand this; from his narrow world-view, someone that has made a fortune would be a great person to put in charge of running the economy.

It's a bit like putting a shark in charge of beach safety. "They have been around a ton of accidents, they must know more about this stuff than anyone!".
When challenging a Kzin, a simple scream of rage is sufficient. You scream and you leap.

I'd really like to know who Trump considers poor. Cause that definition is rather critical to how much nonsense his statement was.

As much as I get the general logic of people who clearly have a history of successfully managing money being put in related positions, it's still a dangerous conflict of interest. We don't need a government that's run entirely by businessmen. (Any more than it already is...)

People who wouldn't consider a loan of a million dollars "small."

Considering he railed against Hillary and her supposed Goldman Sachs connections, yeah it is a problem when Trump does it. Especially since he has 6 of them in his cabinet.

Crazy idea, why don't we put an economist in charge of the economy?

Economists are just part of the liberal elite, man. We need someone that's not part of the liberal elite, like high-powered investment bankers who played a role in the Great Recession!

Another example of Trump trying to look cool by association. It's pretty sad really.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

oh wow, Trump contradicting himself? golly at this point I would think it's a requirement he lies every other day to maintain his existence in the physical realm. but seriously the fact he said that shit so brazenly and that crowd of lemmings cheered at him makes me hope this country crashes and burns, we deserve this. we let this happen.

Yes, a pyramid scheme doesn't work, when you look at it upside down. In case I am being too obtuse, the concept of a pyramid scheme explicitly relies on ones belief in following the rich:

You are explicitly shown the top lever earner and told to follow. It doesn't work when you try to con people by saying follow the poor.

Same reason why Rick Perry replaced a nuclear physicist at the department of energy. Trump is the only truth, so disagreement is a sign of incompetence.

Its terrible fucking logic. It presumes that business people will be most adept at running the finance of government even though government isnt a business. It also presumes those individuals once in power wont run it in the interest of their class. Do you think steve mnuchin is watching out for the coal miner in west VA? Gtfo with this shit.. oligarchs shape policy for oligarchs and that just means at most theyll be best at watching their own interests not running the government

And the tiny fraction for whom heroic raids are currently well tuned? Too bad,so sad! With the arterial bleed of subs the fastest it's ever been, the vanity development that gives you guys your own content is no longer supportable.

Because in its nature, the trickle down theory, or the idea of following the wealthy, is a pyramid scheme. You are told that the person at the top of the pyramid is wealthy. If you join them, then you will get wealth as well. What ends up happening, much like with a pyramid scheme, the many end up contributing to the top. Where very few see the promised riches, but the closer to the top, the wealthier you are.

Couple that US's wealth inequality and you end up not with a pyramid, but more of a nail like this, when it sits on it's head:

It has a very slim top, with the end having a sharp tip. The bottom is large, making up a much larger circumference, than the tip of the nail. Our wealth is concentrated at the top and there is a very steep and narrow decline to a much wider population.
