Yes and no. He may not shoot bolts of Void energy around but the (alternate) Nagrand questline blatantly implied that Warsong shaman around Oshu'gun were able to enslave the elements thanks to the abundant Void energies seeping from Ku're's dying form. The same pretty much occurred with the Pale Orcs and their enslavement of elementals on Cho'gall's order. The first Chronicle volume also connected Dark Shamanism to Necromancy.

Neltharion was corrupted but he didn't tap into the void, he just twisted his own original powers.

That was my point overall. And there's a difference between corrupting and directly boosting someone's power. Sure, Deathwing got a power boost out of that corruption but merely because his already existing power have been twisted by the Old Gods to fulfill a more destructive and offensive purpose. In fact they messed him up so much that he basically turned into a flying weapon ready to blow up at the right moment.

Think of it like this.

Why not use the void as a weapon to combat the void, the light and living creatures? If one can enslave part of the void, one can likely do great and terrible things with it. Its the whole fight fire with fire logic, except instead of warlocks/demon hunters using silly fel against demons (and literally everything else they encounter), its the legion enslaving the void. Something they've done since voidwalkers became a thing.

Given that they explicitly try to keep the Legion out, i rather doubt that.

The Legion isn't above using the Void, but they don't collaborate with the Void Lords.

Apparently he is being starved of energy (Fel or otherwise), placed into a dark chamber, and having it be filled with flames, ice, and shadow magic by the head Shivarran council. He also has portions of raw musculature exposed so it looks like they've been ripping largish pieces of his flesh away from time to time and preventing him from healing.

Seems they also cut his eyes out and put some contraption into his mouth so he can't close it. I'm wondering why was his mission SO important that he received such a heavy punishment?
