    English muffins in England

    In England do you guys call English muffins an English muffin? Or do you just call them muffins?

    The french for french fries is pommes frites, literally fried potato

    Actually why would anyone call them french fries when their real name is pommes frites ?

    Afaik its only north americans who call them french fries.

    I've only ever seen those things on McDonald's breakfast menu and they're just called muffins.

    "Pomme" is actually "Apple", "pomme de terre" is "potatoe" or (literally) "earth apple".
